Hey guys I'm trying to set up a JR 6102 & so far I've figured most of it out (I normally fly Futaba!) Anyway the question I have is I'll be using the Fut. 401 Gy. & I know the remote gain plugs into the gear channel but what I cant seem to get is when I switch from normal to H.H. the gear channel switches from the neg. to the pos. side as well. I cant seem to figure out how to put the gear channel on a different switch or keep it in H.H. for both positions. I'd like to be able to select normal or H.H. from a different switch if the Tx. is capable or at least leave it in H.H. all the time. The ATV's wont let me use +'s on both ends.
I'm not used to JR stuff so can anyone help me out here?? The inst. for the Tx mention nothing about gyros except setting up Revo
If I cant get it it means I'll have to use throttle hold & idle up to connect the battery (using on an electric by the way - JR 610Spectrum!) If that will even work.
Thanks In Advanced
Steve

Thanks Will!
Just played with the Trex in the back yard using the 610Spektrum & I LIKE IT! I totally re-set up the SE like you & I did on the XL and wallaaa. Came up with no subtrim or trim period & its steady as a rock. Thanks for the set up pointers :noteworthy

Could you tell us what you did, and how??

Sure Michael,
On the system menu (press the down & select buttons then turning on the Tx) it allows for you to assign the switches to a point. Luckly the gear switch was assignable to different ones. The draw back, for me anyway, is that my 9C & 9Z have 2 switches on the top left where as the 6102 has 1 on top & 1 on the face. My normal set up on the 9's is the back one is gyro & the front is idle up. With the 6102 the top is idle up & the one on the face of the tx is gyro. If I'm not careful I'll flip idle up instead of gyro. This is not changable on the 6102 as far as I know. I always flip into normal then back to HH just before I lift off to make sure the tail blades dont have funky pitch in them from carring the heli to the flight line so you can see where it could cause a problem for me.
Hopes this helps.

Steve, can you physically move the switchs in the case?

To get to the Idle up go to the throttle curve screen. Push the select button on the Tx until the little pointer is pointing at the "NORM" just below the
[THRO] on the screen then push the Adjust button on the right side of the Tx and that will take you into the idle up, or stunt as they call it, screen then make your adjustments just like you did in norm mode. To get back to NORM again SELECT button till you have to pointer at the STUNT & press ADJUST back to the NORM screen.
As for changing the switches, I havent tried to move them but I've got used to the way it is so I'll probably leave it.
Since Spektrumizing the 6102 I have really enjoyed it great little radio!

thanks, i followed your directions and the only problem i am having now, is trying to figure out how i can switch between normal and stunt mode while i am flying, should it be on a switch or do i need to do something else?
thanks again

Go to the Servo monitor screen and flip the top left switch & watch the throttle channel & see if it dosent match what you set in Idle up & normal between the 2 positions. Make sure channel 5 isnt changing as well or you will run into the same problem I had initally.

hey, your right despite setting up idle up mode and regular mode my throttle channel does not change, however, my gear/ gyro channel does. i thought this was normal as i have been using it to switch between HH and normal mode on my gy 401 i currently have throttle hold on my right switch and the gear/ gyro on the left switch, maybe this is why i am having trouble programing idle up, any ideas?
thanks

Here are my switch settings:
Go to the system menue - Hold down both scroll & select then turn on the Tx. Scroll till you get to switch select & set as follows -
D/R Individual
Gear Elev D/R
FL-M Left SW
That should set it so the Idle up is the top left switch & the Gyro is the left face switch. Hold should not be affected.
Depending on your throttle curve settings you may have to move the throttle stick some while watching the servo monotor in between the 2 conditions. Be sure the throttle curve setting in idle up looks simular to a V & not a linear line as in normal mode.
