To all:

Just re-reading some posts to see any updates from guys (gals?) that have had helis & equipment ripped off and got to think. Even if you locate a heli that is probably yours being sold locally in hobby shop or flying field, how do you tell if it is really yours? Say you file the police report like Rodney did for his pmax and the bird is located as a consignment sale in the LHS, how do you prove to the cops that THAT heli is yours? They will seize stolen property if they are sure that it is stolen.

Suggestion: put an identifying number on the frames, engine, etc. that you can tell the cops "look here for the serial number." You could scratch the number in a hidden spot (in a servo hole or or on the tail boom under the T/R case or where it slides into the frame, etc. It can't hurt.

I've heard a rumor that the newer TT kits come with a serial number stamped on the inside of the frames.. Can anyone confirm / deny that ?

I have even heard of people putting the radioactive part of a smoke detector somewhere on the heli so that a geiger counter will click away in close proximity to it! (Look for the glowing impotent flyer and ask him for more details!)

What about them special markers that you use U/V light to show it. It could say something nice like F### you thief and then a four number code. You would only tell the buyer about this marking after you get your money, and if he try's to burn you can tell the cops what to look for. Here's a link http://www.insight-security.com/prm-markers.htm

Why not just scratch your AMA# on the model, it should be there anyways, that way theres no argument since you have the card with your name on it to prove your number.

Write your name etc on one of the 1x1.5" sticky notes, roll it up tight and stuff it in a skid tube before you glue the caps on it.

Use a self adhesive address label and stick it to the inside of the tail boom.
