K10331A Align Magnetic Ferrite Ring, You must be talking about the wire from your esc that plugs into the receiver that is a ferrite ring, its suppose to be there don't take it off, you must have the esp 500, if im not mistaking it helps reduce electrical interferences that comes from the esc.

The misconception I see with this thing is that it's not necessary with 2.4GHz systems. It's not for radio interference. It's for interference between the power system and the ESC's signal (and possibly the rest of the radio system's signals).

I always use the example of an airplane I fly regularly that was acting up. I was ready to buy a new ESC due to a seemingly random pulsing of the throttle. It wasn't a low voltage pulsing or anything, just a random variation in throttle when holding a specific throttle setting. It drove me insane.

Finally, I picked up a JR RF Choke (same as the ring on the T500 ESC), and it took care of the problem 100%.

You can remove it, but make sure to put it on a servo extension near the receiver. I wrapped a 12" Hitec extension wire around mine and taped it underneath the RX tray. The extra length gained was enough to get it from the battery tray to the RX tray in the rear of my heli.

I didn't say it was for radio interferences, I said interferences that come from the esc same thing you said, and if it helps in even a small percentage why take it off. example some times when you plug in the battery to the esc you ever notice one servo might twitch wouldn't that cater to something like that just curious?

I wasn't referring to your post. :) Most people just assume it's for radio interference. I was pretty much backing you up.

I had removed the ferritte ring on my Jazz ESC. After it returned from service from Kontronic (for other reasons), they had commented on the service papers not to remove the ring. I had written that I had a Futaba 2.4 ghz system.

I believe it's to ensure proper current, just a good fail safe in case you get any interference. If you don't have one or took it off, its possible for the electronics to lock out, not sure if it would completely shut everything down or for how long. Not really willing to find out either.

Keep in mind this wire gives power to the Heli, and also controls the throttle, so ur dead in the water if something serious happens
