Hi guys,

i dont know have this been post before anot. But i just cant find a thread about this.

I would like to get a Peerless 4800 batts for my Stratus. So i would like to know, a Square pack or Flat pack will fit the Stratus nicely ?

Thanks,
Kenny

Does the peerless come in a square pack configuration? I might be wrong, but I believe they only offer the flat pack - I don't see an option on their website for it. Whereas Duralite gives you the option of flat or square. You might want to contact Fromeco and see.

I have contact Fromeco about the batts and they confirm have square pack or flat pack. I also ask them which one will fit a Stratus nicely, but they said they are not sure as they ( the person i email ) only fly planes.

So what do u think ? square or flat will fit the stratus nicely ?

Either one will work.

Square pack is a much nicer fit as the battery tray is narrow.

I use Duralite, but I assume the peerless packs are very similar.

Mike,
That is what I was basing my answer on. I have seen both the flat and square Duralite packs on Stratus. So I would think the Fromeco packs are similar size in those configurations.

I have got the 4800 square pack.
definitly the way to go.
Have them attach Deans connectors for your Regulator and do the same on it.
You still want the normal JR/Futaba connector on the battery as well for normal charging.

Your welcome.
And to clarify, mine are the 4800mah Peerless Lithium Ion pack.
Using Arizona dual voltage Regulator with Flagswitch.

But do i need to get the 8 Ball or The Voltage Adjster ?

Yes you will need the 8ball as it gives you a true indication of your Lithium Ion's battery stage under 1.5A load.
Due to the 7Vdc+ your normal load tester just won't work.

The voltage adjuster just costs a few dollars and is worth getting..why?
Because you probably end up converting all your helies to Lithium ion/Regulators.
I am so impressed with those batteries..they hold the charge so well compared to Nicads or even worse..NiMah :(

So, it is a good investment as you can use it on all your future Lithium Ion batteries.

Remember..this is just my opinion..

But if i use a Volt meter, do you think it will work as a '8Ball' but with out the 1.5A load ?

Also can u like 'teach' me how should i connect the 8Ball to check the batts ? do i connect directly from the batts or from the Arig Reg ?

I agree with you Alfred. I to have mostly Duralite Li-Ion packs and regulators in all my helis. I would never go back.

A voltmeter will check the no load voltage and is fairly accurate to tell you if the batterie is charged or not..if you know the full/empty voltage..but still not a true indication of battery state.

You can plug the 8 Ball directly into your battery or throught the Regulator.
the manual will show you but get back here and ask again once you get it as it will make more sense of what to do.

All right then. But just to check with you, The 8Ball is the is Led lighted up ? or it is just black and white display ?

because on their site, it show like it is yellow LED lighted words

No
You do get your money's worth.
It's more like an LCD display but using segmented LED's.
Remember the old digital watches? Something like that.
It also has an LED in the box that lights up the box.
It gives you all the info you need as an example the voltage shows something like: 8.32
It will also tell you if it is safe to fly or not.
You will also use the 8 Ball to set your Regulator Voltage.
The manual explains this quite clearely.

Last of all, i just want to know, what is the Mix and Min Voltage can the 8Ball take ?
