Hey guys:

Well I got plenty of mounts and generators in stock (ok not plenty but 5) that I recently received from Minair. Looking for good homes for them on your Spectra-g's. These are direct bolt and go style, you can see the mount on my website at:

I figure there are plenty of guys with Spectra's out there, so they should go pretty quick once the word gets out.

Anyone interested please pm me or email me at rbort@juno.com.

Thanks guys,

make a version that is hidden (driven from main gear not the start shaft) for scale use and i'd be interested in one.......... as it is right now ur system would stick right out the top of my fuselage.........

While I would like to make a mount for every ship, its tough as I need to invest in it and I don't know what the demand is going to be. I just finished working with Minair and making dimensions so they could come up with drawings to make the mounts. Now I have them for the Spectra's and the 1005's. I hope to sell a bunch of those to recoop my investment. I also have Chris Bergen working on a mount for his ships, so by the time he is all set I'll have Minair, Bergens, Predators (got that too) and the one that is waiting for a LONG time is Varios from Joe Howard. That one is supposed to be main gear mount.

You can always make a mount for your own ships if you want something now, its not impossible - I originally made my own mounts for my helis. I guess my plan is to see how I make out once I have the Bergen and Vario mounts going and then decide on the next most popular machine to make a mount for it.

While I've sold many generators in the past, since I spent the time and effort making the mounts for the generators seems like no-one is interested at the moment. I am a bit surprised, I thought there would be alot of demand from heli owners now that mounts are available. Guess will have to wait and see, thought I expected more interest than less when mounts were made...

I only have one helicopter right now :)

If I had another Spectra, I'd get another generator :)

Hey Dave:

I think you and I have spoken before. Your name sounds familiar - maybe even on the phone? As far a scale application, why don't you get one and design your own mount for it? After all, scale builders usually do it all from the detailed cockpit down to the paint wear on the fuselage. I've provided many people with generators and they made their own mounts in the past. For me to make a mount for your specific application is hard because a) I don't have your particular model to work with and b) if I did how many other people are going to have the same heli/mount need?

How can I put this? I'm not trying to get out of making a mount for you, but I think if you really are interested in having an on-board generator don't let not having a premade mount get between you and the generator. You've built your scale model, you are well capable in fabricating beauty, I think you are 100% capable of making a mount.

And lastly, and I do say this with confidence - once you start flying with an on-board generator, you will never ever want to fly again without - I guarantee it! :D

I agree with wingtip. If I could buy a already made mount that is not above the canopy, I would buy one. :)

I'm currently working on Chris Bergen and Joe Howard to make mounts for the Bergens and Varios. After I have those on hand I'll see if I can somehow incorporate a mount that will run off the main gear (Maybe even use a modified Joe Howard mount) so that you scale guys can run off that and hide the generator in the cabin.

Thanks for your interest, so far so good with this product as everyone who's got one is happy with it and we're getting close to 100 units out there! :D
