Toying with the idea of selling my T-Rex and getting a Swift. I do not fly 3D with the occasional flip and some inverted.

What affordable set up should I be looking at for servos, motor, ESC and batteries? Any good motor combos if I keep my 4 TP-2100’s if I put 2 together or should I sell the 2100’s and get single bigger batteries for the Swift?

How will the Swift fly with the stock plastic head or does it need to be blinged out? As I am new to even reading up on the Swift are there any good sites I should check out?

Thanks

Look some power combo Century have done on his web site. You have a big choice depending you interrest and your type of flying.

Look at this address: http://www.centuryheli.com/products/helikits/swift/combos.htm?currentid=333

I'm sure you will find the right combo you search. For the TP 2100, sell it and buy another battery for swift.

Emoli's are the bare cells in the new Milwaukee v28 lithium ion tools. They go for about $100 on EBay. The packs come with a 7s 3000mah setup. You basically strip out the bare cells and solder them into a pack. Over on RC Groups there is a PDF that explains how to make the packs and even how to add Thunder Power balance connectors. There is even a how to video on www.swift-tuning.com. I must say the power these produce is pretty impressive. The climbouts are on par with my Evo 50 w/ OS Hyper.

I looked at this page and which of the 4S packages would be best? Are the 4S batteries enough or would I really need 6S? Again mostly sport flying here.

I am using a Futaba 146i, can this be used on the Swift?

If you have the soldering skills then I think the emoli's are the way to go. You get a 7s pack for less than the cost of an equivalent 4s pack. If you are not into the extreme power you can porbably get by with a 6s or maybe even 5s emoli config. I'm not doing anything close to 3D yet but I really like the power the 7s config provides. The downside is the 7s config requires a high voltage ESC like the Castle HV45.

Stay with either the Century 600 or the Neu 1907 1.5 motor. The Hacker A30 is underpowered for a heli of this size. The Futaba receiver you have should work fine on the Swift.

Soldering is no problem. What is the weight of the 7s finished pack then?

The emoli cells are 100 grams a piece. Add some weight for shrink wrap wiring and taps.

I think my 5s packs came out at 532 grams.

What charger are you using for the emoli batteries? Can an auto detect charger work?

They charge just like a standard lipo. I don't have a charger that will do 7s so I built my 7s packs as 1 4s and 1 3s. Then I charge them on my Polycharge 4 at 3amps.

Sweet because I too have the Polycharge4. You can do that at the same time then also. Did you do the same for balance connectors?
