Getting ready to purchase a new 700 and was wondering if the quick Uk links are worth it? My friend has them on his and loves them just wondering what else people are thinking?

A cautious yes - like everything in life nothing is perfect but the QUK links come close - they are bidirectional and tough as nuts - however be aware that the T700 standard balls are bigger than the QUK links so you'll either have to buy the complete kit (with new smaller balls) or else resize them - if you have a new T700 I'd stick with the stock till you get the feel of the heli. IMHO the QUK servo CNC wheels and the QUK clutch are better initial upgrades than the balls!

I was also thinking of getting the clutch, I hear it is definitely a good upgrade and I would get the whole kit with balls and links I'd just like to use them from the beginning rather than change them out later if its necessary.

The clutch is the main thing, the links are great but the clutch is essential. If you are ordering them and are going to get the balls eventually just kill two birds with one stone, if a budget is on your mind just opt. for the clutch and you will be golden.

hm, I have 6 gallons thought mine with lots of autos and I have had no problems with the clutch. but not that I have said that it will go out next flight. maybe I better get me one of the quick UK clutches. is the quick UK clutch really better?

I definitely would not say the clutch is essential.

If it ain't broke - don't fix it !! If you have a good clutch and it's going fine leave well alone - however if you have a bad run like I have had 5 clutches in ~ 50 flights then the QUK upgrade is good !

Interesting. I wonder if QuickUK have updated their design? The links that I received and installed on my 700n are definitely not bidirectional. The opening on one side is significantly smaller than the other and is not chamfered. It would be quite challenging to snap onto a ball in that direction.

I can post a photo if anyone would like to see close-up.

Mine definitely are bi  - that's a big reason I use them as I like a half twist to get the tracking spot on :) - There's a very shallow chamfer on one side probably to do with moulding but the orifice is the same size and isn't chamfered !Hope they haven't changed it !!!

Mine are Bidirectional too:thumbup:
Good value for money as the stock links is no good. They get sloppy within some gallons.

The stock clutch is another story, absolutely no problems (approx 14 gallons now) A lot of autos too.

My stock clutch lasted around 120 flights, when it failed I replaced it with the Quick UK clutch, if I was building my 700 again I would still fit the stock clutch but would replace it with the Quick UK clutch when it failed.

I fitted the full Quick UK link & ball set after around 20 or so flights, I'd not had problems but it seemed like a good idea. A fellow flyer has around 50 flights on his 700 with the stock links and has already had to replace a few on the head as they were developing slop, with this in mind I'd fit the Quick UK links as part of the build, it's much easier doing it at this stage rather than having to strip it all down a link at a time plus the Quick UK links are all still slop free but very smooth after 100 flights.

I find the only links that wear really fast are the washout links, and those aren't replaced by the quick UK set so I am fine with my stock links. don't mind to much if I have to replace a link every 5 or so gallons, I can get the align links at my LHS and they are cheap.
