Is anyone NOT using this bearing? Considering removing it so I can lube my Scorpion motor without taking apart a number of parts.

I recently broke a Scorpion motor shaft in flight. Sent the motor back to Lucien, but when I get it back I am not going to use the bearing in the motor mount. Not sure if this is what caused the shaft to break, but I don't see a need for the bearing.

How many of you have stripped your main gear without using the bearing???

So you think the problem with the derlin gears stripping was because people were not using the bearing in the motor mount?

I have had 50 flights without the bearing and not stripped a single gear. If you have that much play in your motor bearings, its time to change them!

You need the shim if you want to use the bearing that is included with the motor mount. This is of course if you are using a Scorpion Motor. What I do not understand is that this just slides the pinion higher up on the motor shaft. So if there is any run out on the motor shaft it will only increase as the pinion moves higher.
