I have s stratus with extreme head. I put a 15mm clear vinyl tube ( the one contractors use for leveling) on the center of the spindle instead of the silicone one. Is that OK. Thanks

that peice of tubing is made out of Teflon the one from MA, it is only used to help centre the spindle correctly once all done up...

Correct me if i am wrong

yep ,, as usual ,, you are wrong....... it's for extra dampning... and it is silicon tube...

If you run hard O rings or the 1 piece dampners , it isnt necessary ....

AS long as your dampning it hard enough, the tube should be okay omitted.

Basicaly the material the tube is made of is not an issue. Right? I mean if it is not silicone, it's not going to cause any problems.

nope, not an issue. As long as it won't deteriorate with fuel residue You should be fine.
Neither of my MA choppers has it anymore..

The purpose of that center tube is to provide a soft teeter for the center of the blade axle. The tubing is of less concern with really stiff dampening in which the blade is is barely moving, but I can assure you that it does play a role in softer set ups. The material for the tubing is not especially critical as long as it's the correct OD when installed and will tolerate wear as the axle moves around in the head.
