Hi,
have a 9Zap WC2
What im doing is, setting the atv for one flight condition to say, 60% on both A & B (low rates)
I then set the atv on another flight condition to say 120% on both A & B(High rate)

The problem is that as I switch between the 2 flight conditions the servo moves, so the trim will be out!....

Trims are set at Nor-c in both conditions, theres no mixing & subtrims are all the same!

I can get around it with subtrim, but wondered if there is something I'm missing :?

I have spent hours playing & checking settings, switches but it seems as though when I adjust the ATV between conditions, the servo center alters.

Advice I suspect is required

Go into the servo monitor screen and verify that the transmitter is changing center on that channel. If so, you have a mix or offset programmed in somewhere. Can be a challenge to find sometimes-----

Hi Jim, have already done that & servos are showing all at center.

What I forgot to say was this only happens on a channel if I have used subtrim to center the servo!

I better give an example (this is on one of my 3D planes)

To get both ailerons & elavator surfaces perfectly level I use subtrim
eg. On low rate flight condition, aileron subtrim is set to +10 and normal trim settings +2, with the ATV at 60% on A & B

Switch on high rate flight condition & with subtrim set at +10 with exactly the same trim setting (+2) but with ATV of 120% A & B

Every time I switch between the two conditions the servo center position alters.

I found that increasing the subtrim to +20 on the high rates condition will put the servo in the same position as on the low rate condition.

The only thing I can think of is perhaps the ATV increase has an effect on subtrim values & not standard trim values :dontknow

Nobody at my club is any the wiser & never seem to of come across this. :arggg:

Hi Ron
FNC is set as follows
+T1, +T2, +T3, +T4, -**, -**, -**, -**
+J1, +J2, +J3, +J4, -**, -**, -**, -**

Same in both flight conditions

The sliders do beep if moved full either way, but I cant see anything that changes in either FNC, CND, TRM or MDL menu :arggg:

I ran into this and it was related to the trim. I could actually go to the trim menu and see the numbers change every time I entered a flight mode. I was forced to seperate the trims...set them all to 0 in all fligh modes..then reconnect the trims. With them tied together I could not get them aligned. I ma sure there was an easier way to do it but I could not find it.

Hi Steve, thanks for the reply

If I look at the TRM menu while adjusting the trims between flight conditions, they are the same in both conditions :?

I still think that it's not the trims, it's the volume on the pitch curve or the throttle curve. i had this same thing and that's where i located the problem. the hover pitch was not centered and every time i went to idle up the swash moved. Look at the pitch curveand move all of the sliders and knobs and see if anything moves,do this in both conditions. i don't have my 9z anymore but could fix this if i could put my hands on yours. Ron

Hi Ron,

This is currently happening in the airplane setup only! (always get the heli mechanics setup correct & never used different ATV settings on heli's)

TCV is linear & doesnt move regardless of twiddling knobs or flicking switches
THR curve is on inhibit in both conditions

Wish ya was this side of the pond mate, gladly give ya the Tx
When is ya next holiday

SORRY thought you were refering to heli setup.

i still have had the trims seem to be out of phase and it was some kind of mix that i missed. i didn't inhibit everything and you mnight try what steveL said. go to each trim and (0) it in all conditions in sep instead of combined reboot and then combine the trims and see what happens, can't hurt. wish i could get over there myself, Ron :dontknow

i just reread your post at the beginning and i messed up. put all your atv's to 100 or 120 and leave them alone, then go into your conditions and change the afr's to match the throws that you want. repeat don't change the atv's in each condition, use the afr's to change. this should eliminate the problem. Cheers Ron
Will do that in the next couple of days and let you know how I get on :glasses:
