Hi Guys,
What is the best size lipo to run in a 450 for good 3d performance ?
I landed up buying some 4 cells for my heli thinking they would give me longer flight time (sales man should have explained it better to me) but from what i understand now, more cells give you more Voltage ie. more power ... are 3 cells adequate ? What does it mean if the battery is a 20c or a 25c ?
so now ive got a mix of 3 cells and 4 cells ... can I mix ? or will my heli behave very differently between flights ?

Nope, can't mix. I'm not even sure the stock motor can handle 4s, but I know you would need a smaller pinion. It is usually recommended to stick with 3s, and on the Pro you should have at least 25C, 30C being better for 3D.

C rating is your current discharge for that particular cell make. Take C * capacity and that is your constant discharge rating... i.e. 25C*2.2A = 55A. The greater the difference between this rating and your actual average amperage during a flight, the better off your battery will be. The life will be prolonged, the power will be more consistant, and the temperature will be cooler.

Someone else will probably say more about 4s setups...

If you go fore the Scorpion 8, 10 ore 12 you can mix batteries between 3 and 4 sells.
The drawback is you get a powerfull heli on 4 sells and a lazy one at 3 sell.
To take the scorpion 10 as an example, it have KV rating at 3000.
With 12T pinion that give a headspeed of 2400 rpm at 3 sell and 3200 rpm at 4 sell.
These is a combination i will run in my heli and i guess 2400 rpm of headspeed would be perfect fore lazy inndoor flight at the club in wintertime.
