I just bought a 450SE CDE and I'm 2 steps away from finishing. Does this apply to this heli? It says "New Lightweight Swashplate." It has "Align" printed on the front but no serial number that I can see.

Yes.. it has a plastic swash which also can come apart... Press it apart and use Epoxy.

So this problem only applies to the plastic and metal swashplates right? Not the all metal ones.

I'm a total newbie here so let me see if I have this straight..I just bought a Trex 450x CDE and the swashplate isn't safe?? Will taking it apart and gluing it make it safe or would I be better off replacing it with a metal unit? I'd like to get started with the build but now I'm wondering what I'll need to make this right. Also how will I know if the swashplate has been glued properly or is in need of mods? Will green Loctite ( which wicks into threads and tight places ) work? I'm SO confused...

Personally I would go get the metal swash and be done with it!

Yes. this was fixed on the V2 with the metal swash as pictured below.
BUT the platic swash plates all have the same concern.
You can tell a metal V2 swash as
1) It says Align and
2) There is a serial number printed on it.
Bob
Hi,
I have a Trex 450SE which is less than 6 months old. It has Align printed on the swash but no serial number. I know you are referring to the V2 swash as being fixed but what threw me was that my swash has Align printed on it. Should I be checking my swash or will I be ok. Been flying now for about 6 months with no problems (touch wood).
Thanks

No you are OK... the FIRST fixed swash plates had Align printed on them.... The after a while Align stopped doing that. Any METAL swash you get now should be OK.

I have a bananahobby swash.... looks the same as the pheonix swash... I cant easily seperate it... should I force it and fix it?? Is the ALIGN green loctite safe to use... or is that the same stuff that is cuasing all these problems?

Can you use a wicking ca or is this a bad idea to try to glue it while it's on the heli?

You really should press it apart if you have the old swash.

You really should press it apart if you have the old swash.
bob
But if I need heat, and cant just press it apart... should I heat it to break the seal and put it back together?

Are you sure you have the OLD swash plate?
The new one has been out for a LONG time now.

Well.... I purchased the imitation, its a GL 450C, looks like the PHOENIX 450, more so then the CopterX. It has a few variations in parts... so I have no idea if it is a copy of the old swash, or the new swash. Are there any tell tail signs other then the align logo?

Hi
I'm building a 450 S which has a metal and composite swashplate. Does this apply to that type of swash?
Great video series - loads of good information!
Thanks.
