Flew my Actro Ion all day Sat and man, that had to be the *BEST* day out in my 3 seasons with the Ion.
This was my first opportunity to put some significant time on the 100T setup back-to-back with my Neu Ion and 91SZ PS Fury - didn't miss the Fury :). And yeah I'm still flying the heavy packs (10S4P prolites)
It was a HOT day (34deg C) and man was the Actro alive!! Kicked some serios @ss. The Neu held headspeed better through some things, but the lighter Actro had more 'snap' to it just like Will said and ran cooler too 130F vs 160F after 8 minutes.
IMHO 100T is the magic gear ratio for the Acto on 10s - didn't stop flying until both deep cycle batteries were too dead to run the chargers :).
I still think that the magic setup for the Neu will be 60T + 12S with some hot 4400 6S packs like the ones the Szabo's flew at XFC. My gut-calc says this setup should save 1 - 1.5 lbs for a 10.5lb Ion AND deliver 7+ minutes of hard flight at cooler motor and battery temps. Hope they'll be available soon.
These things ROCK!!

Then just wait until you try the Actro 32-3 on 12S with a 12:1 gearing ;-).....

:)
How's the Actro been holding up on 12S?
Really good so far, Greaaaat power and a cold motor (80 deg C on the windings after a flight) due to the 22.000 rpm in combination with a self cooling design....the more rpm, the more cooling.
You can also read this thread
http://www.helifreak.com/viewtopic.php?t=10174
The trick is to keep up the rpm, keep up the gear ratio and keep down the Amps.
When the season is over, I will be able to deliver some more long term test results. Until then I can only say good so far.
I have now ordered 3 more Actro motors for different heli´s, so I trust them :-)

hey , you cant beat a actro , I have the actro 32-4 in my flybarless VStabi Ion and a 100 t main , it rocks , Will witness the VStabi with 2 7s4p with Matt at the sticks , it weighes 11 pounds and rocks just as well as the 10s evos . I have a great video of the VStabi test with this combo

Honestly I don't think it can match the 32-3 10:1 with the EVO's for more than the first minute of flying Tony, but it did fly nice.

Cool Rob glad to hear you got youre stuff flying again
Y ou got to get some of those 20c cells in youre machine they change the whole out look
I think the ACTRO 32-3 ON 12S is the way been there done that wiht both the Neu and tthe actro i liked the actro the best it had way more power then the Neu on 12s!!
I would have to agree wiht Will Tony the Evo packs are a whole new experience wiht any heli

32-3 12:1 with 12S EVO´s could be fun to try....Who will be the first to try that setup?

Hi Bobby, the helis have be good to go for the last little while, but I have been unavailable. Both helis have been flying well with the CC110's, but the Actro definately has the edge on power-to-weight.
32-3 on 12S at 12:1? 120T gear? Chris where are you man!!?? :D
I'm trying to hold of the 12S 20C thing until something in the 4400 - 5000 range shows up for increased duration (at least 7 min) and a 10.5lb heli. In the meantime I'm trying to "use up" my 10S4P prolites :)
Having more fun with my Actro Ion than my current nitro machines so far this season.
IRCHA's gonna be a good time this year.

btw: Will - Very nice work on the XFC videos, hard work getting all that editing and encoding done in such a short time - thanks, effort is much appreciated
