I suddenly notice my Stratus tail alot of play. I have check my gearings and mash all of them.

But no matter how i tried, there is still play.

But i notice Tube Drive link to the white colour part, might be causing this play. But When i took out the white part and just connect it from end to end of the Tube Drive, there is no play.

Only when i connect the whole boom into the body ( with the boom all the way in ) then i will notice the play.

Anyone experence this before ?

Is it safe to fly 3D with this kind of play ? :(

It is normal to have play after flying the model a few times.
The front pinion gear seats into the crown gear. The delrin couplings loosen up on each torque tube end. The tail gears mesh becomes a little more as the gears wear into each other. So add all that up and there is more play.

Just to make it easier to understand, When i lock the pinon gear with my finger ( circle in yellow ) and put my finger at the tail box gear ( Circle in red ). When i move the gear at the tail ( circle in red ) there is alot of play even when i lock the front pinon gear ( circle in yellow )

From what i think it is around 2mm of free play.

So is normal ?

Sounds normal to me to David. It's in the dogbone. That's where the play is located.

MA does not sell just the Delrin coupling as far as I know. They install them on the shafts at MA.
