I'm moving over from a stock Hacker to a Neu 1521 and I'd like to also switch from the stock Hacker ESC. Any new issues or updates with the Castle Creations 85HV or 110HV ESC's?

I'll probably go with the 85 since I'm doing AP and not pulling a whole bunch of amps. I'm mainly interested if anyone here is still having any particular issues or failures. Has CC got this thing sorted out?

Thanks!

I would keep an eye with this one. Have only good experience with Kontronic so far.
Why take the risk with a controller with known issues when there soon might be a much better controller on the market? Just the way I see it.

OK, we dont know when it actually will be out until it is out on the market, and we dont know if it is a good controller before it is tested in the field, but if it is a bad controller, I would be surpriced.

Out soon, and should be priced around 400 Euro´s in Europe.

I was going to post Powerjazz too.

However, Paul is wrong.

Powerjazz is 339 euro.

I had ordered one of these frpm Heli-pro about one week ago. I had not heard from these folks in a few days and ahve been getting nervous about the status of the ESC. I found out today that it is delayed and I got my full refund from them. Now it is a waiting game. It should be back in with in a few months.

Definitely use the 110 with the 1.23 software. If you don't need 12s go with the 77-O Heli.

I hate to hear you are regretting 12s Mongo. Get another 12s controller and work it baby. Tony had a poptart at Chattanooga I think he was possibly wanting to sell???

I've had zero problems with the 110 on 10s so far - based on the experience of others I passed on the 85 and on firmware rev. 1.51. Currently using 1.23, was using 1.161 prior to that.

Hey Mongo, what's going on with the 110 on 12S?

I agree 100% Mongo. That is why I to sold the NEU and I have a toasted CC-110 I have never sent back laying on the bench. When I go to the field, I just want to fly and have fun. Being a test dummy proved to be more than I wanted to deal with and also very costly with the 2-stage Ion-X. The Single stage is still going strong, it has had some VERY hard flights, Eric Larson flew the piss out of it at MHA, no failures to date, great and super reliable machine. 77-O has had a couple of mysterious cutouts since I went to the 5014, but always autoed it in No problem and after a reset everything was fine. I have a backup 77-O for just in case.

Thats great news Laurens....339 Euro for such a controller is not bad compared to the expensive Schulze. And thanks for the link, just ordered one plus the progcard.

It has been delayd more than once now, as seen often with RC products....guess this delay tactic is a way to keep people waiting for a product just around the corner.

They are probably just trying to get it working right before release, something Castle never did. They just sent out a bunch of crap and let their customers weed out the bad ones.

I've burned up 5 out of 6 HV85s and 110s since they first came out.

I don't think they should be rated for 12S either. I have one here that does work OK until you plug in 12s and it will peel the teeth of your main gear even before you get it spun up. Really weird :arggg:

It does this in Gov mode only on TCs it will work but for an ESC that barely gets warm on 10s it gets finger burning hot on 12s.

I could have bought 2 pop tarts for what I've wasted on these things in the last year, not to mention all the aggravation :badair:
