as far of my understanding. the ZAP is for Airplane Default. ZH is for helicopters.
IF the 14mzap have the Racheted Thottle settings. Then I swithc it for heli....
Will it default to Heli mode?
Just asking coz theres a 14MZAP selling here in my local hobby shop for only $1750 . But im hesitating to buy it coz its not 14MZH.

It won't default to heli mode, so far as I understand. However, the most that will mean is one or two additional touches on the screen when you create a new model. Hardly a problem, I think.
At least I haven't found it to be a problem since I bought a ZAP.

there is no difference between the 14a and 14h, you remove the racheting with the allen screw in the back of the transmitter and move the switches to where you want them, the software is exactly the same. i have the 14ZA and my buddy has the 14ZH. just the logo on the front is different. :lol:

And the "default" startup is really meaningless. Every time you add a new model you select the model type, so it is hardly a big deal at all what the default is. Once programmed it automatically retains the model type (and last selected frequency) for each model. I have helis, gliders, and aerobatic planes programmed. Never even noticed what the default startup was.
I fly all my models with the heli ratchet set. Smooth with the tiniest bit of click, just enough to feel but not enough to cause a problem with the heli.

ahhh... Ok. Guess im buying it today. you guys think its a good price? $1750?
New in the BOX etc. or case whatever that is.

Jeez, if that's considered new with warranty, that's a STEAL. Is your LHS an authorized Futaba retailer?

yes its an authorize futaba dealers. Their going out of business thats why their selling it cheap. Theres 4 of them.
But guess what. I went this 12 noon and all of them are sold out... !@#@#$#@$$ :arggg:
