To help you, watch my CCPM Setup part 1 & 2 videos in the Trex videos section. It will give you a good run down of setting up CCPM.

Dear Finless

I would like to personally thankyou for all your hard work and the committment to the RC community, without you I would either be picking up the pieces and or be grounded. Also i would like you to know that I delete"d runryder from my favorites list.
Thankyou again

Great videos. I really enjoyed the Lepton_test4S video. Where is the flying field? Looks really nice. I'm in Irvine, and I'm looking for a place to fly.
Thanks,
Tony

Hello all. New Lepton owner here. I just wanted to say thanks in advance to Bob for the videos. I watched your set for the T-Rex (my first heli), and already downloaded your set for the Lepton. I hope to start building in the next couple of days.

Hey there Bob. I just spent the evening watching your videos as my lepton kit should be here tomorrow (if the UPS man is true to his word). Anywho, I noticed something interesting that could have helped with your setup that a friend taught me. When using a 401 if you work the rudder stick back and forth 3 times real quick then wait the gyro will center the servo. That way you don't have to "play with the stick" inorder to recenter the servo. I was also wondering where you got that little level you used on your paddle and if you know of anyone who makes a swash leveler like the one for the trex sold at readyheli.

Hmmm never heard of the 3 time trick but for some reason I dont see why that would work? But I will give that a try....

The bubble levels can be bought at just about any hardware store like Lowes. Home Depot, etc....

It's coded into the software of the 401 aparently. Kinda like the switching between normal and AVCS 3 times quickly will cause the gyro to reinitalize.

Building while watching your videos feels like cheating! I made it to step 5 so far. The only tricky bit for me was avoiding notchiness in the tail bearings. I had to fiddle with the torque sequence a few times to get it right.

Hey Bob love the videos been flying my Lepton for a couple months now , got it second hand , but don`t know if the previous owner did the head mod , did you fly it with the head mod ,or did you keep it as Hirobo addendum what Jeff Green said ? and one more question will you be doing a video on the T curves & P curves ? keep up the good work , you have help me out allot on setting up my TREX now i need to dial in my Lepton , I also live in southern Cal. maybe we can do some heli flying , thanks a bunch . Ed :D

I did fly it as per the adendum and it was fine BUT I went back to my mod of the head as I just dont like the idea of it binding like that.

Pitch curves are linear as always unless you want only a littler negative in normal mode. Use a pitch guage to set that.
THrottle curves will vary based on what motor you have and what pinion.

Yea come on out to Arbor and fly and I would be willing to have a look at you Lepton.

Ok Bob now that you've had this for awhile is your opinion about it still the same? How does it stack up to other heli's you've flown?
Let's say thieves robbed your house and left you with just the Rex600 and the Lepton, but you had to sell one to buy another video camera so you can keep on making those build vids...

Which would you keep?

BOB your videos are truly PRICELESS, i want to thank you for all the info you provide to this wonderful community of heli flying, just built my LEPTON and your vids explained some of the best tips available, again PRICELESS, keep up the fantastic work, i do not think i want to build another HELI unless there is a BOB vid available for that particular heli..........Ivan!

Hey Bob,

I've just finished building a 3dx500, and so far I love how everything looks and went together. Everything has been setup per the manual and per your Lepton vids, but I'm having some interactions in the aelerion direction when giving ELEVATOR cyclic. I've got the swash travel level thoughout the entire collective by changing various endpoints, but when I try to correct the elevator interaction it messes up the ccpm.javascript:emoticon(':arggg:')

Hmmmm what servos?
I suspect you have a problem servo there.
The only radio I know of that will allow you to easily dial out ail to elevator interactions is a 12 or 14mz! I never tried messing with a custom mix to do this but that may be possible.

85MG's...And I'm using a DX6(poor man's budget). Now, if I'm not mistaken, I have a aelerion to elevator mix function on that Tx. But that's mostly for fixed wing, isn't it?

P.S. All the linkage is smooth and all the links have been properly sized. The servos are at 90 @ center stick and the push/pull links are the exact same length and 12.5 on center. The swash, out of the box, was a little stiffer than I'm used to, but not enough to cause concern.
