Hi there,

I thought I'd share my experiences the other night - no the helicopter ones silly!!

Freya 90 - YS91, 680mm NHP blades, Magnum 12%. Love this combination runs real smooth and powerful. BUT the tail was never as strong as I would have liked with NHP 95mm tail blades. It would break out in backwards flight even although my 601 was set up to exactly the spec on JKHeli.com.

I bought some SAB 100mm (10mm chord) blades at a fun fly from someone who won them in a raffle and tried them - wonderful!! Fast backwards is now repeatable and I can now have confidence that the tail will hold! Why didn't I do this earlier?

Anyway - I'm going to try them on my Sceadu this weekend and will report back if it solves the tail problem there too!

Have a great weekend!

What gear ratio do you use?
I´ve used both 7.92 and 8.45 and think it holds up pretty well at both with 95mm CarbonTech tails.
The Freya has a pretty high tail gear ratio (~5.0).
I Put in the EVO tailpulley in my XSpec that runs on 8.45 with a YS91, havent flown it that much yet so I cant tell if there´s much difference compared to the std. ratio.
