New Toy !!!

Here is my new blue foamy flyer. It's a 3DX and I am getting ready to go and see if it will fly.

Looks good, I have the mid-size bipe halfway done, just need to get a power system and reciever for it. went together real easy :D

I have the 40inch bi plane all cut out... CF rods glued in... all I have to do is put it together and strap the motor and elecs on and go....

P. S.
If you wanted to paint it... the Krylon fusion works reall well... just dont concentrate the paint in one area and pretty much just use dusting strokes.

Hey Sar,

I just got in a couple of hours ago from flying this beast !!! I had a ball. There is an old football field a block from me and I met another heli / foamy flyer up there. We tore up the sky !!! This stuff is FUN with a capital F !!!

I am just using a GWS motor and D gear with a 11x8 prop and NiMH batteries and it did a good job. I am going to LI-PO's and Brushless later, this is just something I thru together with help from some friends. I got about 5-6 minutes on the 870mah NiMH packs and I felt that was pretty good.

The 3DX flew good and required a little trimming, but not a whole lot. It has a nice roll and loop, tracking is good. The GWS motor/battery combo didn't let me 3D very well, but it show promise with more motor and battery !!!! :mrgreen:

Hey Sar, I love a bipe !!! Let me know how yours does !!!

On painting, all the foamy flyer's have been using markers and acrylic paints from WalMart. They do pretty good. I will try the Fusion as I have been wanting to try it on a Raptor Fuselage.

Here's what I have so far (adding pics to gallery) please be patient ;) I'm a bit too sauced from b-day celebrations to get the 'real' digital cam out of my truck so I used the digital video cam, which shoots horrible stills.

I can't get over how good the 3DX flies. Unreal for a little flat winged piece of foam. :clappp

I was impressed how much foam I had left over, I made a bunch of spare parts just in case, could have built all the models on the site twice over I think! :)

Thanks, Bday was earlier this week, but I don't do mid-week celebrations, too hard to get up in the morning after that anymore. Ahh the wonders of age.
