Guys,

I just tried to set up my GY 401 acording to Bob's video and have a few questions about the results. Bob recommends that the tail slider be centered mechanically prior to making adjustments. O.K, I got that part but found that when my slider is centered, the rotor blades have some pitch to them. I assembled it per instructions (rotor hob flush with the spindle). Also, in order to get any clearance between the slider and the hub on full servo travel, I had to turn the gain all the way down. This is probably incorrect so i need some pointers to make sure it's right. BTW, I have HS65's all around on this bird (Trex XL CCPM). Thanks!! :arggg:

The blades are supposed to have some pitch in them when the servo is at neutral, thats how it holds a hover.

If by saying gain, you mean the limit pot is turned all the way down, move the servo to the closest linkage to the center on the servo and see where that gets you.

"move the servo to the closest linkage to the center on the servo and see where that gets you. "

BarracudaHockey, I'm not sure what you mean by this. BTW, sorry, you're right, I meant the limit pot. Thanks!!

Sorry pre coffee post. It made sense at the time!

Move the linkage on the servo arm to the hole closest to the center, this will allow you to dial up the limit pot a bit.

When you are checking for full travel, are you using the rudder stick for input? If you are, the limit on the gyro should have no effect. Set the limit for the stick input in the rudder ATV menu so that there is no binding. When you move the tail of the heli from left to right with the gyro engaged and the stick at center, you will be checking the throw input by the gyro. That input should be affected by the limit pot.

Not sure what you are talking about Cliff, the servo binding limit is set by the limit pot, the ATV's adjust piro rate.
