probably because the US postal service does not make anything easy anymore..
Do some research and find out which customs forms are required, and email Bill.
I would imagine if someone KNEW the requirements to ship overseas, It would remove a lot of the hesitation.

Laurens, if available to your country, do as what I did, Aramex has electronic mailboxes in the US and UK, so everything I buy from the us gets to be shipped to that mailbox (in newyork) and then forwarded to my country priced by KG. just takes longer. check http://www.aramex.com/shopandship

Thats interesting, I had no idea someone had started that.
I know FedEx and UPS require export and import Declaration forms, and the tax forms.

There are lots of freight forwarders that will send packages to all parts of the world. They of course do charge a fee for filling out the paperwork and it does take a little longer to receive the merchandise.
We export a lot of packages from my work and the customs regs change almost daily since 911. It is a full time job to keep up with the changes. That is why most small companies choose not to send outside of the country.

how do you i survived and had actually flown helis ! without this forwarding service i wouldn't get a screw. when i was into rc cars, parts get lost in the standard mail (or stolen) every month, lost more than $600. as soon as the forwarding service was there i signed up for a one-time fee of $30 and all i have to pay later is the price of shipping-weight which is a bit more expensive but hey i get to receive everything intact.. if this service is stopped, then no helis for me, infact no hobbies at all.

I don't mind shipping overseas if you can order at least 4 or 5 items.
I does take a little time to fill out the paper work and stand in line at the post office. I removed the restrictions from the PayPal account about 6 months ago to accept overseas payment! I've been real busy with being REAL BUSY & getting a new website going Http://chattanoogaheli.com
