For any noobs out there still using throw away batteries for the Transmitter - save your cash. My Twister(Blade) CP came with that cheapo ESky Tx, anyhow it used 8 high quality (Duracell) batts every 4 hours - thats £9 (say about $14). I've now fitted it out with 2500mah NiMh cells which also give 4 hours of flying. Initial cost £24, but after 3 charge cycles they'll have more than paid for themselves :D You don't need a proper shrink wrapped Nicad pack as used with premium branded Txs and the worry about how to fit it in the 8 bay battery box, single cell NiMh's usually sold in packs of 4 by hardware stores will fit straight in. Just make sure each cell is a good snug fit against its contacts (one loose batt, of any type, in these Txs will cause a power cut = crash).

For you US folks, run over to Harbor Freight and pick up nimh 4-packs for $2.50 or harborfreight.com if you don't have a local store.

I don't know if they ship to England, but they're all over the states. We have a local store in Savannah. They are 1500mah and yes they were $2.50 for a four-pack. I've had them in my Tx for over four months now.

Thats a pretty good deal. Hell, thats a great deal. How do you charge them? Do you use the charge plug on the Tx?

I have the 2500 mah NiMh Kodaks (about $15 walmart) and I take them out and put them in a Dragon Fly 4 Tx battery holder (8 penlight battery holder) that has a JST connector on it and charge on my charger. I have a Groupner that has modes for Lead Acid, Nicad, Lipo, Lion, and Nmh. I was thinking about making a charge lead to use the plug port on the TX.

Just an update, the Harbour Freight ones are 2000mah. The charge plug doesn't work. I charge them with a wall charger four at a time. I keep meaning to pick up an 8-cell holder from Radio Shack, but I keep forgetting. On the other hand, I usually fly with my 7C, so the stock Tx only gets used when the 7C is charging.

The charge jack on the stock TX for my CP works fine, just reverse the polarity (JR polarity, not Futaba).
