Anyone else have this problem? A baffle on inside came off and is banging around on the inside and making the aluminium muffler look like a pregnant guppy. This is the second aluminum muffler on a gas engine that has done this. Last one was something other than Hatori 941. These things are too expensive not to stay in one piece. :bomb:

Try the Century V2 or wait a while, not sure how long, and get the V3.

I saw in Rotory magazine, in the new issue a picture of a Zimmerman gasser muffler. I checked on the distributors website and didn't see it listed so I don't know if it is available yet. It is made of stainless steel and has an extra bracket to bolt to the engine where the stock muffler does I think. I don't know if the stainless will make it heavier than an aluminum?

At this point, I would take the extra weight in favor of the things not destroying themselves. The things just don't appear to be able to take the heat. I am now back to my old reliable, square can muffler(?) that came with the engine. Its noisey, but stays in one piece.

That is what I am using too after trying a hanson tuned muffler and the V2 muffler. The tuned pipe header cracked after about 2 gallons and the V2 was hard to keep tight, but posible, and I couldn't get my engine to run very good with the V2 but I think that was my problem. As soon as I put the stock muffler on it ran great and stays tight.

The stock muffler is steel and does not suffer from the heat cycling of the aluminum so it will stay on the model and parts are not likely to come loose inside of it. The stock steel muffler does work good and matches the motors back pressure well. It does not offer enhancements nor is it quiet though if that is what you are looking for. I would look into sending the muffler back to Hatori since it has failed.
