I finished my Magnum this weekend and had Malorie & Chris go over it, I need to make a couple minor adjustments and we can light that candle. I will post some pics of the new machine this week.

Also for those of you that can make it to Ohio in July we will be giving one of these awsome machines away at the Buckeye Heli Fest, www.ohiohelis.com

Really nice,

You will really like the way it flies.

That new tail gearbox has really helped me smooth out my piro maneouvres, especially the piro funnel. With the extra travel and strength of the gears it is an amazing difference in feel and consistency, and it was good before :D .

awesome pics! I guess the Magnum added the tailbox and fancy lettering on the head as it looks just my Intrpeids

That is exactly what I told Chris when I saw it at MHA but I am no Bergen expert. What are the differences exactly? He told me but I forgot.

And some changes to the control system that are a little harder to see.

It is a .90 size, although it can accomodate the 60/70's also, with the proper gearing.

I'm gonna be at Ashland next month. Wouldn't mind leaving there with it myself. That is the weekend of my birthday. What could be better than a new Magnum for your birthday! :D Besides...my EB is lonely

OK, I tried to explain this before....

The Bergen helicopters are evolutionary. Meaning that instead of scrapping out a well designed heli every few years just to have something "new" out there, Bergen's philosophy has always been to continually refine the airframe to meet the more demanding needs of the consumer. The benefit in that way of going about it is that you keep a tried and true airframe and get the benefits of an ever increasing flight envelope without being the guinea pig with a new design that you need to reinvest in.

With that in mind, the Intrepid 60/70/80/90 has made a handful of leaps in the past few years, not the least of which is a new tail gearbox, new more aerodynamic canopy design, new fin set, new tank mount to reduce the overall width of the bird, and a number of other less obvious but yet very significant changes to help out the already great handling characteristics of the bird.

So a decision was made that it should have a name independent of the Intrepid name. One that would signify that improvements have been made over the Intrepid from a few years back and would encompass the 60/70/80/90 nomenclature.

While the Magnum is most certainly an improvement over an Intrepid 60/70/80/90 from 3-4 years ago, it is still the same tried and true airframe which means the owner of an older machine can have the benefits of the improvements for the price of a few upgrades instead of buying a whole new machine.

And it doesn't stop there. The Intrepid line is in a continual state of evolution. As the flying becomes more demanding on the airframe, the airframe will continue to get updated.

I hope that clears things up a bit. :)
Happy flying,
Malorie

Really sharp looking heli Brett. I absolutely love the design of the canopy.

Anybody know what price of the new Magnum will be?
