Hi, I'm thinking to buy Outrage 550, but I have this motor, and I don't like to buy other.

I was using this motor in Trex 600ESP. So, I will try to uso in Outrage, with 10S 3300mAh.

I don't know about the pinion to use. What's the perfect HS to Hard 3D? I have pinions 12 to 18, and I'm using pinion 15 in Trex 600 with 2150rpm.

So, I will need to buy others pinion to try the best combo?

Thanks

2400 rocks for us

A 13t pinion will give you headspeed of about 2300 at .9 eff. using the 4025-740 motor on 10S.:Bang

A 14t will give you 2400++

I'm planning using the same motor on 12S utilising two t-rex 500 packs in series (6S 2500).

Would a 10S 3300mAh pack fit inside the battery compartment? I have two 6S 3300 packs which are far too big and by the look of things 10S would be a very tight fit. Might be worth checking.

Al.

Edit: If you were thinking of a stick pack that would probably be fine.

I'm running 2x 2500 6s 25c outrage packs on my 550. Comparing their dimesnions to a 5s 3300 25c outrage pack, the 5s should fit no problem.

Aliboy, looking at the dimesnions of a 6s 3300, you should be able to get them to fit if you space the outer frames sides out by 3mm on each side. I have mine spaced out 2mm to fit A123's.

yeah, a few washers and you can get twin Outrage 6S 3000s in as well. Although it's a bit of a heavy 12S 3000 pack.

I have my speed controller between the frames on the back of the battery tray so a long stick would require moving the ESC back out on the side or elsewhere.

Just test fitting things, I can fit a pair of Flight Power 5S, 3700mah packs in front with them turned up on thier sides

It would be sweet flying my Outrage with a little Jazz 55 ESC on 10S:lol:

That's a great idea about spacing out the side frames - I hadn't thought of that, thanks!

I wasn't thinking of running the 3300, but 2x 6S 3000 in parallel may be interesting, I've got a fair few of them for my T500.

I would recommend the 4025-630KV on 12s from personal experience.

Think you may find the 740kv a little too fast to gear down.

Good luck!!

I ran some calcs on it and it should be fine on an 11T pinion with a little bit of governing. At 100% efficiency using 3.7V nominal you get just under 2600 RPM, running 90% efficiency it should drop into the high 2300s. All theory of course but the calcs should be about right.

Have you tried this headspeed calculator (http://www.readyheli.com/Online_Headspeed_Calculator_s/81.htm) to confirm?

I found the 4025-630KV on 12s be to a straight replacement for the stock Align 1220KV on 6s with the same 14/15T gearing.

Good Luck!!

yeah, it returns exactly same figures as I worked out manually, just under 2600 at full throttle, average around 2400 using an 11T pinion. So I'll try 10T first and if that isn't quick enough go up to the 11T.

It always does, does'nt it.;)

OK, I've run this on a 10T pinion now and basically it's too slow, the Castle governor refused to work at anything above 2030 RPM. So it needs the 11T I originally specced. At 100% throttle is does about 2150 RPM on the 10T (just for info).
