Guys;

Am in the final stages of build on the 600e (YAHOO).

Last thing to install is the tail servo.

Bob covers the spacing for the 611 gyro in his vids, but I am using the 401 gyro.

Can someone please tell me what the servo horn hole spacing is for the tail rotor control servo (center of the servo horn to the center of the ball)?

Thanks a lot

Terry

It's not super critical and the mechanical setup is similar to the 611 - I have found the 2nd hole on the 6 arm wheel ie 11mm to give satisfactory results ie gain ~ 100% - I also have two videos on 401 and 611 setup in my tech section (http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=36177).

You want to adjust it so that you are running the limit pot between 80 and 100. That is the sweet spot for performance with the 401.

Have solved it. All sticks need to be at center. Than mount the servo horns.

Merc / Pinecone;

Thanks. I will do that.
Merc: Thanks for the videos - I went and watched them - they explained a lot. :)

Also, what throttle curves are you guys running?

As a noob, I am thinking of a headspeed of about 1500 RPM - sound OK to you? If so, what gearing should I use (is the stock gearing that comes with the GF kit ok for this headspeed?

Thanks a LOT

I think 1500 is a bit too slow - you might start getting some tail nodding with that - I'd aim for around 1700. The stock gearing with 10t pinion great to start off with and if you want more HS later you could fit the 11t.

Throttle curves always a bone of contention but you could start off with:

Normal 0 - 60 - 70 - 80 - 100
Idle up 65 -65 -65 -65 -65

That will get you started - suggest you get into straight 0 - 100 pitch curves as soon as possible but you could flatten the pitch around hover centerstick at first

Trying to balance out my 600B carbon blades, but haveing to use a lot of tracking tape. Anybody else have this problem? I had to use quite a bit just to get the CG's the same and now on the balance I am having to add a lot back to the other blade. When is to much tape to much tape?

No - Never had to balance an Align 600 blade - have you weighed them make sure they're the same - maybe someone forgot to put the balance weight in ! - I'd be inclined to return to supplier.

Hello everyone,

I have been following Bob vid for building my 600E to his last word but I have a question in the manual of the Gyro it states to wrap the Control AMP with a sponge as well as the receiver is this really a must and if you do wrap the controll AMP and the receiver can you post a pic please to have a better idea of how to do it..

Also the Gyro 611 comes with a square metal plate whats is it for???

Thanks for your help in advance.

On an Electic heli I dont wrap it with foam but do use thick double tape. Electrics dont have the engine vibration a nitro has so no foam is required in my opinion. Nitro's yes!

Thanks Bob for your reply.

Bob I am using the same velcro that you have if I use that for the Control Amp that should be enough right??

Did your Gyro 611 come with a little metal square plate if it did what is this for?

Yes the velcro is fine. The metal plate gets sandwitched between 2 of the foam squares. It's for noise protection. USE IT.

I just mess up then dang dang dang I place only two double side tape and did not use the metal plate because it did not say it in the manual or anything it is a big deal??? I did use two of the square double side tape instead of one???

Thanks

Yes you need to use it especially if the sensor is on top of the boom block. Noise from the belt and bearing can effect the sensor. You "might" get by without but you should use it. Thats why it came with it!

ALSO DON'T use the foam tape that came with the gyro! It splits to easily! Go get some 3M white foam double sided tape from the hardware store.

Ok I did use the foam tape that came with the Gyro. So I need to remove it anyways ok will get the 3M double side tape ok. I will do the sandwish with the new tape.

Bob thanks a million for all your help and your vid are priceless....

Can some one post a pic of the AR7000 receiver and the placement on the 600E. The reviever has an little box attach to it which I think it is extend antenna I think. I would like to see a pic of a heli with this attach where does that little box goes on the Heli.. I want to place the main receiver just like Bob vid on the back and bottom of the Heli..

Thanks

Hello everyone trying to get the servo S9256 moving and it will not move with left stick of my DX7 radio I have the Aux 2 to gyro. I have the gyro connected to the Aux 2 in the receiver and the cable in the gyro 611 that say RX 1-4 in connected to the rubber channel and the servo does not move at all..

Here are some pic I think it is the 5.1V setdown connector that has been solder wrong..
