how tight should the main rotors and tail rotors be?

As for the swash setup on your 7C, I had a 9C and the swash type was SR-3, it should be the same on the 7C. You select this in your model menu, i.e. model type: HELI SR-3. Your swash servos get plugged into channels 1,2, and 6 with the rear servo being elevator (channel 2). If you're still confused, Bob showed CCPM setup w/ a 7C in his T Rex 450 videos.
Now on to blade tightness. The most common recommendation for the main blades is to have them tight enough so that when the heli is held vertically that they don't fall under their own weight, but should start to drop when the model is shaken. The tail blades should move freely, but not fall under their own weight.
Blade grip tightness, no matter what I do everytime I tighten up my blade grips they feel just slightly notchy, not butter smooth. I have taken them apart numerous times, checked bearings, even went back and put the original plastic ones back on, I am running metal ones with K&D dampners. I even checked the feathering shaft on some granite counter top and it looked smooth, no crashes on this bird so I am stumped why I can't get a nice smooth feel to these grips. I made sure to lube up the thrust bearings also.

How are they when you apply pulling pressure while turning them? That's what really matters.
I just tried applying pulling pressure and your right, they felt smoother, thanks. Yah I'll fire it up and see how it goes but I am thinking of picking up some new thrust bearings just in case.

ok folks, i've gotten replies from the trexforums saying that it should be really tight if your doing 3D and the general rule of thumb is to have the blades so they dont fall if you shake the heli when holding the heli sideways.

Ummm...OK... not sure I agree with that!

Hello Bob!
Your video is really useful. Thank you! Please advise how to fix bearings in plastic support blocks to avoide creeping and melting plastic. Should I use a vial with green fixative coming with the kit?
Many thak you in advance.
Alexei.

Bob mentions in the video where he installs the bearing blocks to use show goo. In case you don't know, shoe goo is just a silicone rubber contact adhesive. The bond is not as rigid as with the green stuff, which helps the adhesive hold on under stress.

Many thanks. Is this silicone adhesive especially for rc-hobby? Could you advise needed type or where to buy.

There's a range of similar products under the trade name GOOP. Available at home improvement centers (in the US=Lowes, Home Depot).

In the Beginning Bob does a linkage that he says is 9 mm according to his manual. In my manual is says 10.5 mm. Should I do 10.5 or 9? Or just wait till flight and adjust accordingly?

I just read a post made by Finless at http://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=69342&highlight=curves where he mentions that the ESC needs to learned about the high and low stick positions.
Is this required for the stock Align RCE-BL75G ESC? I can't find anything about this in the manual.

When you set up the ESC, you power up w/ the stick at full throttle to enter programming mode, and then go to low stick to begin programming. This teaches the ESC the high and low stick positions.
Here is the vid for programming the 35A Align ESC, the 75A model uses the same procedure.

Or watch the T-Rex 450 SE CCPM Setup videos (part 1 and part 2). Even though the videos were done with a T-Rex 450 SE, the instructions pertain to just about any heli.

just recieved a trex 600 electric and was wondering what i should set the pitch curves at on my dx7

I have the Nitro version of the heli, but the advice as far as pitch curves is the typically the same as for the Electric version. Throttle curves are where the setups vary considerably.
Idle-up modes are easy: 0-25-50-75-100
For Normal, I have mine set to 40-45-50-75-75. I realize that last "75" may seem strange, but it's a way to remind me to flip to idle-up before attempting any serious maneuvers while still making the heli flyable in Normal mode. I made that decision after my last attempt -- and subsequent failure -- to do backflips in Normal mode. The theory is that if it seems sluggish when applying positive collective, I'll think to check my idle-up setting.
