Anyone know if I can have my x9303 2.4 converted to the heli version. I was a dumbass when I bought it and got the airplane version.

You would have to contact JR/Horizon.

The ratchet can be changed to smooth. The heli programming is already in there. You would have to move some switches and change te trainer froma button to a switch. Might be easier to sell it and buy the heli version.

Radio South can do the conversion faster than JR, or you can DIY.
You can relocate the trainer button to the front faceplate, where the 3 position switch is, move the 3 position to the forward top left for flight mode, and you can do this without sending the radio in, the wires are long enough.
You can buy the smooth tension strap for the throttle from JR/ Horizon or ask your local dealer to get it for you.
I had one of the first shipment of 9303's, and they were all airplane versions. Took under 5 minutes to make the changes, and flew the radio until I sold it and changed to 2.4, about 5 years..

Horizon Hobby just had my X9303 A/S in for service, and they refused to change the switches to the heli placement even when I told them I didn't care if the switches were not labeled correctly. They didn't even fix the problem I sent the radio in for, but that's beside the point. Can someone explain why the switch placement on the heli version is better anyway? I don't have any problem with where my idle-up, throttle hold, trainer, or dual rate switches are on my A/S version.

so it's like any other heli radio, and you wont have to relearn switch position later.
Send it to radio south.

In case I forgot to mention, Tony Stillman is an AMA VP for district 5. He's been around a LONG time, and has an impeccable reputation.

It's not a cost effective repair, that's why Horizon would not change your switches. Your labor cost would be through the roof.
