Couple of questions regarding these cells;

I have a pack which I have been running for approx 9 months in a Raptor 50 (all digital servos) and it charges to 8.30V following a full charge. However under a 1 amp load it now only gives 7.19V, isn't this a bit low. (Shows 7.95v under 1 amp load on the charge lead)

I have a brand new pack that I have just charged (waiting to go in a Synergy :lol: ) which gives 8.30V and 7.72V under load.

My questions are:

1) Is my used battery, possibly suspect, bad cell? The most I ever use it for is 6 flights and then recharge but I am now wary about doing that many.

2) Having fully charged the new batterty I now read that these batteries should ideally be discharged to 7.6V if not in use. How critical is this for a period of several months? What is the best way to discharge the battery?

I should add I have been very happy with Duralite

:D

1. I would guess yes it is suspect. I would call them and they will probably ship you a new one.

2. Not sure, ask them when you call :p

Note: A more knowledgeable person should add something soon but I find the Duralite folks great to talk with.

Thanks Dan for your reply

I have contacted Duralite support via email and they suspect I have a dodgy cell and are sending me return details for testing. No testing centre in the UK so guess it will be going back to the US.

Guess I'll be using my new duralite sooner than expected :mrgreen:

So far duralite as a company are definately living up to their reputation.

Will report back as to how I get on

Still awaiting the return details from Duralite, but I guess you guys in the US are celebrating July 4th right?

If so happy holidays anyway :lol:

Mark (Duralite Support) is away at a Pattern Meet. Give him a few days to respond.
