Gas, weight?
The deluxe carbon size?
Anyone have any experience with this unit?
I was/am reading Paul Tradelius book and he recommened it and I was just curious if it was worth it.
Also, does the B-I-G (Bergen Intrepid Gas) have a in-air mixing carb?
Thanks
One quote in the book made me know, it is an older written book;
It talks about how "Bergen" makes parts for X-Cell, nothing about Bergens own helis. :D

It should hold it but 2 dowel rods and 4 wiffle balls works too.
I would buy a Blade CX (it comes with practice landing gear and a radio) and get the feel for it before you "start" with a Bergen.
My 2 cents.

Thanks for the reply DDog!
I have a Walkera 22 E RTF w/kit for the practicing/feel, plus the Reflex XTR.
I just read about it and I was wondering if the Rotopod would hold the B-I-G and or if it would be a good idea or not.
I like the dowel idea, the Rotopod sits high and it/you could trip yourself up, flip the wrong switch or throttle and it could flip over easily enough. Just my guess.
Thanks again for the reply.

I made the switch from a micro to an Intrepid EB. Much easier to fly the Bergen.

rotopod = BAD JUJU!!!!
I had my first crash on a rotopod. Don't waste the time or money on it.

...the dowels like Ddog suggested. Much cheaper and would be easy to install with cable ties or even velcro.
I just did not like how high the rotopod was. With the dowels I can start out with them long and cut them down in size, until I do not need them anymore.
Mark,
I noticed on the sim that a 50+ (for me) is easier to fly than the smaller helis, I guess it is the power.
But during the long winter and just starting out I wanted something I could prctice with inside.
I am sure the Bergen will be much better than the Walkera, but I could not hover/fly that one inside my apartement. :D

I still would not start with a Bergen. I started with a Raptor 60 and it was series of very expensive lessons. PLus a Bergen is a bit more complicated than a Raptor.

I 100% agree to this one! :D
I always thought I could do anything on my own, but when I start flying/training with the B-I-G, I will have a experienced Bergen pilot around/attached.
Even if I have to drive to Michigan or Utah!

I wish I'd have had the luxury of steping my way up to the Intrepid but it wasn't a viable option for me. I needed to get a camera in the air and didn't know at the time about DJ's rappy rigs. I'm not at all sorry I went this route. 6 months on the awful Blade CP practicing in the worst enviroments I could paid off bigtime. I've not crashed my Bergen and don't have the fear of doing so. I still wouldn't have minded having an experienced Bergen guy in the neighborhood. Maybe later this year  Wouldn't be bad to have a flying buddy 'round here :D

Oh God, I wish I could be there TOMORROW! :D
Can I have a open end invite, with notice of course?
I am SOO busy trying to get moved to CT. I had to meet the movers in a Monsoon yesterday. But they showed up, I was amazed at that.
Then a hip replacement later this summer early fall.
BUT..
Next Spring watch out!
That is why I am getting everything lined up now. Got my Sim, got my indoor practice micro heli and got my support group (here at HF), so I am ready to recouperate/rehab and practice/learn.
So be ready next spring Chris!

Ohio, is not that far from Michigan. You are just a hop, skip and a jump (maybe a BIG jump) from some very experienced Bergen guys.

We always have an open invite for anyone to stop by, with notice as you said.
As long as it's not on a Monday or Tuesday....You guys kill me on those days! :D

I wasn't too far away earlier this week but without the requisite notice (Defiance, OH). The thing I've wanted to stop by for most is parts pickup. I'm not good at waiting for UPS and they don't do Sat. delivery to my area. My EB's only had to sit for silly things but I like flying it so much that I can't stand when it's sitting.
I don't want to be too underfoot up there anyhow. I hope I'll catch ya at Ashland, Chris. :D When I get that new bird you've been generous enough to donate there.
