Guys,

I've been reading the threads on the subject and have still run into the same problem as a lot of other people.

I'm using an OS SZ and have followed the manual down to the letter (I think) but on arriving at the joining Upper and Lower Frame Assemblies part I've discovered that I have no gap. When I say no gap I'm not kidding. I'm actually unable to put all 8 M3x10mm bolts in.

I think I've got the SZ base plate - it doesn't actually say SZ on it, but has the greyed circular milled section. As per the manual I left the original 1mm washer against the front bearing then mounted everything as normal. Having said that I did modify the top collet (drilled it to 8mm) so that it seated properly.

Can anyone see what I've done wrong or give suggestions. It must be something pretty drastic to be so far out?

Move the Pump-carbonplate to the bottom of the baseplate.
That should give you the gap.

[Great minds think alike - I was just typing this as your response came in!] -
:Should I have put the X shaped pump support plate beneath the Engine Back Plate? From what I can make out (from looking at how far above the Main Base Plate the A-Frames are hovering - I'm about 2 to 3 mm out!

Christoffer - Is that what I've done wrong? I was just assessing how far out I was and was beginning to wonder if it could be that. Do you always place the Pump-Carbon Plate below the Base Plate when using an SZ?

Yes the pump mounts on the bottom of the carbon plate. Not on the back of the backplate when mounting an SZ in the Stratus. Move the pump to the other side of the carbon plate and everything will be correct.
Your not the first I have seen mount the pump wrong with a SZ in the Stratus.

Thanks Chaps. I feel so stupid. Thats just the way the pump was attached when it arrived. I guess I should cut a new (longer) length of fuel tubing for the pump for this new position - tubing for the crankcase pressure feed that is?

Yep, cut a slightly longer piece of tubing. Make sure it sits load free when in place.

Actually, stupid would have been NOT asking for help.
