View Full Version : 9303 Throttle Weirdness?

I'm sure this is going to turn out to be one of those "Duhhhhh" questions... but here it goes anyway....

I have three flight modes set up on my 9303 for doing aerial photography. The only difference between them is increasingly more exponential on S1 and S2 ...... the throttle curves, pitch curves, etc. are identical.

WHY THEN is there a slightly lower throttle position, and a slight aileron displacement of the cyclic... when I switch to the NORM flight mode....???

It's enough to allow me to kill the engine in NORM.... but not in S1 or S2?

Or put another way.... WHERE is there something that affects the low end throttle setting in the flight modes? ..... I have checked and double checked... all of the fancy mix modes are inhibited...

Any thoughts?

Thanks!

The throttle trim lever only functions in NORMAL mode. The trim lever position is ignored in S1 and S2. That should explain why the throttle low point changes when you switch into NORMAL mode.

The cyclic "displacement" is most likely caused by a "feature" of the 9303. Each flight mode has independent trims. In other words, changing the AILERON trim in S1 will only change the trim for that mode. It won't change in NORMAL, S2, or HOLD. There is supposed to be a function that will allow the user to have all the trims change in every mode together, or independently. But I can't seem to make it work. I just have to remember that if I change a trim, I have to go into each flight mode and make them the same.

Thanks Rob.....

That explains it. I guess it is only a "semi-duhhh" question..... at least it isn't me doing something totally dumb.

I appreciate your input!

Yeah, it's not as obvious as it could be. It took me a while to figure it out, and I read the manual cover to cover. I still missed it!
