Just got back from the LHS and was lookijng at the HS81MGs and the HS85MGs. Both are almost identical in size. The 81s were a bit smaller.

The 81s were also faster at .11s vs .16s. That's signifcant. Torque was similar, with the slight advantage to the 85.

Both obviously have metal gears. It looks like the 81 does not have a ball bearing, while the 85 does.

So should I go with a faster servo or a slower servo with a ball bearing??

For a heli I am a proponent of having a bearing on the output shaft as in time the servo gets sloppy. But with this heli being a "push/pull" design it might be OK.

I am using the 85MG as I had them and I am going to be running a 6V BEC so that will make them .14
Additionally I am told that this heli was designed so high speed servos were not needed. I cant say that for sure myself until I fly it this weekend.

Later I plan to put in Airtronics 94761 digitals in it. I think that might be the best servo for this bird right now.
