To Vibe or not to Vibe?

I on the fence between the Vibe (thanks to Justin Moore a couple of weekends ago) and the Aurora or Synergy.

I'd really appreciate hearing from Vibe owners about cost and ease of "re-construction" versus the two new birds, Synergy and Aurora.

I have a Millie II, Tempest FAI (3D head), Stratus, Raptor 90 and Raptor 50--I assume the Vibe will fly more like my Millie, i.e., on rails, as opposed to my stick bangers--Tempest and Stratus?

Just looking for some words of wisdom from Vibe owners.

ps: I want to support the "good guys" e.g., Justin Moore, Curtis Y., Len S.

TP,

It is hard to make comparison between the Vibe, Auruoa and Synergy as far as kit construction as the later two are not out on the market yet. From my perspective, the Vibe is an extremely easy kit to build and maintain (read rebuild as necessary) The low parts count and simplicity are a key in the design. To lend some fact to this, if you search Horizon website you will see that there are approximately 95 parts for the Vibe (see my previous post in this forum).

I have little experience with the other models that you have mentioned, but for me, the best praise I can give my Vibe is that, whatever position I put the model in (eg. backwards, inverted, tail slides, etc) it just stays there and the model flies effortlessly. It has a locked in hover, and you can take it upstairs and it is very responsive.

One nice thing about the Vibe is that since it is distributed by Horizon, any LHS can order parts. If you have a good LHS in your area, you can simply provide them the part number and they can order it via Horizon and have within a week if not sooner. This way you can do small parts order to build up your parts inventory and not have to pay shipping from the Larger Online stores, where you would have to put together a reasonably large order to defray the cost of shipping.

There are many good models (and people) in this hobby, and your best bet would be to take a close look at each of the models you have listed and see what fits your flying and "building" styles the best. I can only say that I have loved both of my Vibes and they fit my need very well.

Hope this helps, feel free to pm me or post if you have more questions. Also you can check out my website for some more information on the Vibe

The few people that have answered the weight question on the Vibe have mentioned it's around 10.5 pounds.

There is a great Vibe build up thread on www.archeli.com.au in the workshop forum (you'll have to register on the site to access the thread) from an individual who had never built one before. Really shows the positives and negatives of his build.

To date I have flown just about every 90 out there that is "available". The Vibe without a doubt is the best flying 90 I have layed my hands on!

For mods I did the grip flip which I reccomend. You can see the pics in my gallery.
