I don't know if I am having a brain fart or what, but on one of my helis the throttle trim at idle is set to low ( about a click up). I would like it to be about midway. Is it possible to do this just with the radio? Do I need to adjust the throttle linkage on the heli? Any thoughts?

Yes it's possible but will require changing the mechanicle setup.
You need to offset the throttle arm on the servo or the carby to give you less throttle opening rotation in the 1st half of the throttle.
This will also mean that you will have to (most likely) "increase" the length of your throttle pushrod to achieve this.

Thanks Alfred, that sounds doable, just not as easy as a few radio adjustments.

actually, it is possible in the radio. just bump up your throttle sub trim and the throttle will be as you want.

Hey,

Increase the travel adjustment on the low side of the throttle channel. This will close the carb more and make it so that you have to move the trim higher to acheive the same tickover speed.

I wouldn't alter the subtrim as that only works at centre stick and will alter your hovering throttle settings.

Try to get your machanical setup as close to 100% travel either way and then adjust the travel limits small amounts to get the right tickover speed at a chosen trim position.

You can also adjust the throttle trim rate in code (83). this will fine tune your throttle trim only. I set mine up so I can put the throttle trim 1/2 the way up and I will have a steady idle on start up.
