Just getting organised for AP and couldn't find a neat way to add an easily removable trigger servo without marking my camera.
So I Dremeled a piece of plastic ruler as a platform. The trick is that wire wire which hooks into the wrist strap hole. This tensions the outside of the plate, while the button bexel locates the plate horizontally, and the rubber bands hold the other end down. Once the bands are removed, everything simply drops off.
Since taking the photos, I have replaced the wire with one which is captive to the plate, to avoid losing it in the grass at the field.
Used a black waterproof marker to hide the inch markings :)

Hey one question that comes to mind...
When you guys have this servo type shutter activator, do you have it set so it press' halfway down then fully to allow the camera to focus?? If so are you using a 3 pos switch on the radio?? Hmmm.
Thanks

I use a regular two-position spring-loaded switch. If I just quickly hit the switch, it won't take a picture, but it will keep the camera from shutting off.

No, you do not have to "pre-focus" your camera. YOu can jam the shutter button all the way down, and the camera will focus and then take the picture.
Been using servos to trigger cameras for years this way.
There are some out there that think you have to press halfway and then push the rest of the way to take a picture. There is even a product that does that for you called the shutterbug made by rc-cam man where you can program a two position servo position, and the device will press half way, then the rest of the way. It is not needed.
Just pick up your camera and squeeze the shutter all the way down. It will hesitate while the camera focuses, but then the picture will take.
I personally run my camera off my spring loaded trainer switch via a servo, and my camera runs in continuous mode, so I can squeeze off a few at a time by just pulling the spring loaded switch. It will take 2fps till the card is full as long as I am holding the switch.
