hi all ,i own a r50se and i have a tail prob .
2 weeks ago i bought new tailblades , i had originals and i bought carbon mah blades . i also putted the ball onthe servo arm on 10 mm from center servo.
i have a 401 and a futaba 9254 . first the tail blew out , landed putted up the gain and retried .
up to the point where its hunting like hell and back .
when i fly with reasonable speed sideways , the tail just turns and the head moves towards flydirection .
adjustin the gain between way to low and way to high doesnt make ANY difference . wasup with it ? i never had tailprobs it was always tight as a non. btw the prob didnt start when i put new blades on , it still was ok for a while

sounds like tail belt might be loose

only 10mm out is a bit close , mine are at 15mm ..

Whats your head speed ? if its low , you wont get the tail holding well ....

And if the 9254 is old , or been damaged , same prob ...

Are the new tails much bigger than the origionals ? I have 95mm carbons on mine .... 401 holds it well ....

Yup. 10mm is way to close to the pivot. 14-16mm is ideal.

Don't know about MAH tailblades but the SAB 92mm's (#390 I think) combined with the 401/9254 setup are about near impossible to blow out.

yeah , my blades are 90 mm .
i putted it to 10mm out of centre couse the manual sugested that for 3 d , i will put it back one hole if theres no advanage . the prob started last week and i only putted it on 10mm last weekend. and it flew well with these blads before , it behaves like itsnot in hh but in normal mode , while the light on 401 is on .
also , the whole heli including 401/9254 are only 6 gallons old and went trough nothing bad yet . its so weird , couse when it turns toward heading direction it really looks like the gain is too low , but adjusting the gain towards way too much doesnt change , it does the same . . . while hunting as hell .

i found it
it seemed that the slider thing what slides over the tail rod was loose and therefore had some play
i could solve it by just tighten it .ive heard that the copper part gets wear and tear after a while
i wonder if theres a upgraded and more rigid tail section upgrade at uk or something ??thanks for yr input guys :noteworthy

What lengh of horn do you guys use cos i use around 10mm (CSM 540)and have no probs but i've been told that you need like 19mm?

And please dont answer buy a 401

I believe you should use as short a distance from center to link as possible to still get full throw. The manual for the Titan says 10.5 mm (should be the same on the SE)and that allows full throw for me. Putting it further out will reduce torque and require a lower limit to be set so that's a waste.

Thanks Tintin i do get full throw on 10-11mm but wondered why it said between 15-19mm.
