Hey fellas,
So I recently started considering replacing my Trex 500 with an Outrage 550... the problem is I just can't justify $320/piece for 30c packs. The only way I can afford to do this is with significantly cheaper packs... but I still want 3d capable performance..
So what are the options for cheaper packs?
And just as importantly, where can I find them?

I'm using 6s 5000 Zippy-H from Hobbycity.com, good batteries, excellent value for money.

Azz you don't need 30C packs, i run 25C packs and i run them HARD, they are warm when they come down but no where near hot. I haven't tried any of the zippy packs, but there has been enough interest in them i should try a set for myself.

Im using both 25C Outrage 6S-5000mah 25C packs and Zippy 6S-5000mah 30C packs. They are both working out great. The Zippys are square in profile and are a little tight under the frame when slid back to the proper C G point. The Velcro holds them up against the upper frame..Not a problem for anything other than making them a little hard to remove because my "tool" that I slide between the velcro is hard to slip in between.
$279.00 ea for the Outrage packs and 113.95 ea for the Zippys + about 18 bucks for 5 day shipping each from Hong Kong

What packs are you using in your 500? If 6s 2500, you can run two of them in series on the 550 for a nice 12s setup.

I'm using Align 2600mah 25c 6's x 2 in parallel. Abit tight fit but C.G wise ok.

Here's another option.
http://www.xcitebattery.com/
You have a choice of running 6 cell 4800 30Cpack.
Or two 4 cell 4200 25C packs for an 8 cell set up.
Either way you will be spending $200.00 or less with the 15 percent discount they offer.
I am running the 8 cell setup up with very good results.
Also you can get the new HP Hyperion's at RRE Models for about the same price.

Where are you finding the Rhinos?
Same place as I find Zippys- HobbyCity alias HobbyKing
Zippys are in and out of stock so fast , so I bought Rhino
Cheaper than Zippy-H but more than the Zippy Flightmax
more often in stock, seeing that everyone is chasing Zippys
