Is there a way to increast the throttle in throttle hold? For example, if throttle hold is off, I can move the throttle trim up and down to adjust the throttle a little bit. I'm asking because currently when I turn throttle hold on, it kills the engine.

yep , theres a hold adjustment in the menu ...

But in that menu I can only choose what position is on/off and which switch is the throttle hold. Is there a menu I'm missing or maybe a selection I'm missing?

its page 71 of the manual I've just D/loaded ,, Throttle Hold 12H
with tx on , press " down " and " select " keys , use "up" or " down" till " THROTTLE HOLD is on the top of the screen .... Factory setting is inhibit.. press + or - to activate AND SHOW CURRENT THROTTLE VALUE.... USE + or - key , adjust the hold value to get the idle rpm you desire ....
It doesnt say so , but I recall the Hold sw has to be " on" to change the value....
Hope that helps!!

Lets clarify this a bit.
Throttle HOLD (right side of transmitter, two position switch)is for shooting autorotations, or to kill the motor in the event of a crash. Nitro machines should be set to an idle, Electrics to 0%.
Idle up (left side of transmitter, three position switch) is your flight mode switch, and settings for throttle curves and pitch curves are controlled by this switch.
Idle up (or stunt mode) rough settings;
pitch +10/-10 in all modes, throttle is linear in normal, V-curve in idleup 1 and 2. Set the low point of the throttle V-curve in Idle up 1 the same as the hover point in normal to start, and adjust the low point up to achieve the desire RPM.

What does the throttle hold setting have to do with programming IdleUp ?
For an eHeli you always want the throttle hold setting to be zero to stop the motor. For a nitro you want it to be non-zero so it simply cuts the throttle to idle. The throttle-cut button is there for nitros to drive the throttle setting down as far as needed to actually stop the motor.

ya, that is what i figured out, however, i set my normal throttle curve to be linear and the stunt one to be a V shaped for idle up mode, i just cant figure out how to set it up so i can go back and forth between throttle curves by a switch, i have the xp 6102 and it does not have a three position switch, is there any way it is still possible to program idle up?
thanks

OK, that's the way it's usually configured.

I think you are mistaken. You don't want a three position switch since you need throttle-hold to operate independently from the flight mode. Throttle hold is used in a number of scenarios including:
a) Keep the motor off until you are ready to spool up
b) Cut the motor after landing in either Normal or IdleUp
c) Cut the motor in IdleUp to perform and auto-gyro landing
d) Cut the motor just before crashing to reduce crash damage
e) Cut the motor in any emergency situation
All of these except (c) you want to be able to do regardless of the flight mode.
The normal setup on a mode2 6102 is that the flight mode is controlled by switch on the top-left shoulder (back is Normal, forward is IdleUp) and throttle-hold is controlled by a switch on the top-right shoulder (back is hold off, forward is hold on).
I recommend you stick with the standard setup for those two switches. It works well and will mean that if anyone else is to fly your bird they will find the controls where they expect them to be.

thanks for the advice, however, my problem now is trying to switch between normal and stunt. currently my left switch operates my gy 401 from HH to normal mode and right switch is thorttle hold (set to 0), i set both normal and stunt to the desired throttle curves (stunt being a V for idle up), i am just having a problem setting it up so a switch can change from normal to stunt mode
thanks again
