Well it may not be raining so much anymore - now it is the wind that has been keeping us from flying!!
:motz
The hubby mechanic is making noise about not being able to fly and the advantages of the bigger helis - I have hidden the credit cards and barred him from the checkbook!!
Hopefully we will get some flying in next weekend - going to a MVRCC Heli Fun Fly. It will be the first time I fly with other people - can't wait!!! We've at least been spending time on the sim and it is helping.
Hope you all had a great 4th.

Ok ladies,
Help me out here. Let kjfly know how much fun a bigger bird could be.. you know, for those days with a little too much wind for the Trex 450...... :dontknow

A R50 is not that much more expensive than a T-REX that is decked out.
Check this video out of me flying my R50 and see if I am having fun. You can hear the wind in the background. (You may have to disregard some of the shenanigans at the beginning of the video, Clint Events are always a gas.)

Hi All,
Hey TJ, I guess this explains why KJ hid the credit cards. Check the freezer (my favorite hiding place).
Cheers,

I agree with Will...I have a R50 that is a blast to fly no matter what the weather is doing (except rain of course).
Hey TJ, you know, those places you've ordered from before probably still have your info on file. hehehehe Now you don't have to find that hiding spot!

Hi All,
I was reading this post about the wind in Ohio. Well, it's showed up here. I flew about 10 packs today, hot but calm. Then I had to do a couple more.
There a T-storms moving into the area but it WAS calm, doing figure eights, getting pretty cocky. The comes the gusts!
Gawd, my heli lost altitude. I did the most amazing crop dusting imitation right through my hosta's. They were budding up. All I saw was buds, blades all flying everywhere!!!
It's was somewhat comical. I'll assess the damage tomorrow, blades for sure. Probably a main shaft and feather shaft.
The, only, good news is my new hs-65MGs did NOT strip... whoo hoo, keepers!
Cheers,
Leslie

Hi RTHanley,
I post, and learn on a ton of boards. I live in a remote area of NH so any and all information and experiences are relevant to me:)
Cheers,
Leslie

Leslie - see I told you those winds suck! :motz
Hope you don't have to much damage. I did finally get to fly 2 battery packs today before the winds picked back up, then the thunderstorms moved in.
Hope it clears up - I want more practice before the fun fly this weekend - my first flying with other people - can't wait!

it has been windy here too. I have spent time on the simulator, tuning my spare heli and doing other nonheli related stuff.
Yeah, wind really sucks rocks.
