Either I'm really dense (good probability), or this is worded strangely.
In the 2007-2008 AMA Helicopter Rules Proposals, section 29.1.3 (Class 1), it describes the maneuver as follows:
Model takes off from central helipad and rises vertically to eye level, pauses, turns 90 degrees either direction, pauses, climbs two (2) meters, pauses, turns 180 degrees tail in, pauses, descends two (2) meters, pauses, turns 90 degrees nose out, pauses, and descends vertically to the central helipad.
I assume that the model starts on the ground with the tail in, so none of that maneuver makes sense. It rises vertically (tail in) to eye level, pauses, turns 90 degrees either direction (let's say nose left), pauses, climbs two meters, and then turns 180 degrees tail in?
If you're pointed nose left (or right, for that matter), you can't turn 180 degrees and be tail in. You can either come back 90 degrees opposite the way you started, or go around 270 degrees to be tail in, but rotating only 180 degrees only has your nose pointed to the other side.
Then, you descend, pause, and turn 90 degrees nose out? If you already did the "180 degree tail in" thing, your nose is already out, so how can you turn 90 degrees nose out if you're already there?
