When your ready for inverted you wont need training gear. There are going to be inevitable crashes, but I hope you all remember how much better it flew when you took the regular training gear off. Same applys, if not multiplied in that situation.

Yeah, when I first saw those I thought nothing good could come of it, and I am left being pleasantly unsurprised at the outcome. Nope, I'll stick with doing it my way: The sim, and altitude. So far, I am at a 50 percent success rate. I have attempted inverted in real life four times, two have resulted in debris fields, and two have been successful.

Why is it the goofy-est people in this hobby almost always seem to be the ones putting videos of themselves on the net doing product reviews, when they appear to not have the experience to be doing the review?...

John is a good guy - his videos are entertaining and informative and I don't see what the deal is. I don't understand why this got moved to safety area. I don't see anything wrong with putting some fun into this hobby - that is the whole idea after all.

LOL at the twisted mess at the end. You can't tell where the heli begins and the gear ends.

Maybe its fun but in the moment the market get flooded with theese contraptions and pilots are starting to use them accident will appear.
In compared to upward tail in flight all the controlls are intuitive and the pilot are more able to correct the heli in the beginning and crashes appear where the heli is lost further away from the pilot.
With these rigg lurning to hover inverted the controlls are no longer intuitive and the heli can shoot against the pilot at great speed and the pilot corect the wrong way and thread the heli around his neck.
Then its a safety issue.

Yes, but I think you need to ask whether learning inverted flight is safer with this thing, or without it. I personally think this thing makes it less safe for the helicopter, but possibly a bit more safe for the user, because they do have the option of putting it down inverted, rather than trying to fly out of it. There is the issue of the thing possibly convincing people that they are ready to try inverted when they are not... but Johnny has done inverted hovering before, not sure why he bashed it up in the video.

When I first learned how to fly inverted I was way up there so i had space to recover. With this the ground and yourself is like five feet away.

The end CRACKED ME UP! I swear it looked like he crashed it on purpose! Just as he was lifting off inverted the heli tilted to one side. OK no big even n00bs learning upright with training gear do that as they try to learn the stick movements. But whats with the full negative punch out? Seemed on purpose to me?

could be... his video channel is really funny - he crashes something almost every week, and while managing to avoid any dumb-ass safety issues too. It is worth subscribing just to see what he's going to break next. That CopterX 450 has been rebuilt at least 20 times in the past few months.
And I will say again - he is a really nice guy... he sent me a motor to test on my 250. Not many people will do that kind of thing just to be nice.

First thing you do when you get in trouble is drop the stick....Away it goes since it is already upside down....I see trouble ahead.........

Yea if he didn't do it on purpose then yea.... the heli started to tilt a direction he didn't think was right and WHAM he pulled down on the stick (like a n00b would if upright to get the heli on the ground) and away she went! So you could be right. He paniced and pulled full negative... Still funny as hell if you ask me!

I couldnt comment on everyones comments cause the video has been moved....lol
Okay...I didnt punch out on purpose. Cant remember who said it...but yes...you can see that the heli is going to the left....so i corrected it...but DOH....I gave it more left...lol
Then i wanted to back out so I dropped the throttle....DOH...i gave it more negative...and the rest is history. I just posted another vid doing inverted...I took everyones suggestion and did it without training gear...lol...and got lots of height. Im very happy doing it this way...even though i crashed a few times...whats not shown on the video is that I had two actual successful inverts...and I hung there for atleast 15 seconds...even wagged the tail left and right....but the camera wasnt on. I could have stayed longer but flipped out and landed. Im just going to plug away and practice somemore...I know Ill get it eventually. I practice alot on the sim....but its nothing like the real thing. Also because of the height it takes me awhile to see if the heli is level or not....Ill get it sooner or later...Its damn fun trying!

I think you have more fun than a lot of people... I would be positively stressed out if I crashed as often as you do. That's why I love your video channel - because of the fun factor.

That thing would be a blast! Where did you get that thing?? I want to break that thing out at the field, what a conversation piece:YeaBaby:
I can hear it now... what the??? is that some kinda weather receptor, or something??:thinking HEHE
MULIKOW,
Wow, you sir are a great sport!! Taking criticism from people, especially from the safety bureaucrats who never post up videos of there own, you always have a great attitude... rite back in the saddle kinda guy.
Keep the vids coming and great job!
