...once you unplug the charger and its not finished charging.. it goes into the "charging error" mode where it blinks fast. You then have to replug the radio and either unplug from the wall or from the box in order to reset the radio and then replug.. Kinda a pain in the ass for a top of the line radio..
Any ways to get around this...
Secondly, it takes forever! to charge the batteries...so you end up the the problem above...

Not aware of any workaround - I have mine plugged into a power bar, and just power off the power bar when I need to unplug the TX before it's fully charged. And yeah, it takes a LONG time to charge - I usually plug it in Friday afternoon or earlier to be ready for weekend flying. The only other option would be to charge with a standard NiMH charger that can push more current. I haven't tried this with the 12X yet, but I've done fast charges on the DX7. I'll give it a try the next time I need to charge the 12X (it shouldn't be a problem, unless there's some sort of circuit in the battery itself).

I tried the stock charger a couple of times but quickly switched to using one channel on one of my LiPo chargers. I set it to NiMH, 8 cells, 500mA and it works fine. Depending on the discharge state, takes 2-4 hours. No warming of the battery.
Just checked the manual, you can charge up to 1.5A with a fast charger, which would take about an hour and a half if the TX is completely dead.
So, if you have a charger that can do NiMH batts, and a JR charge lead, you can fast charge that way.
