this may not be an option for you but what I do when I need a cam operator is use a hands free earpiece on two cell phones. one for me and one for the cam op. We each put the phone in our back pocket, I call up the cam op and off we go. Full duplex conversation and range/audio quality is a non-issue. works good and no extra equipment to buy other than the earpieces.
Airtime cost is negligable to nothing if my cam op has the same carrier I do.

Like DJ said,
It's the BEST truly full duplex device out there and you already have it. I use it all the time with my DOP (wife) she watches the shotsfrom the downlink with the client and gives me feedback. Ocassionally she makes slight tilt adjustments with her radio. Otherwise she's simply a line of communication between me and the client. It also helps to keep them out of harms way.

I agree the bluetooth earpieces are starting to come down in price. I would research them also. Some do not perform that well in a windy enviroment.
