I have this one. http://www.modelavionics.com/skytach.asp Works well and is easy to use. This is the only one I have evr had so I don't have another brand to compare it too. You can find it cheaper through one of there dist. than listed on there website.

I'm not sure if others can (I don't even know any others) but at least the MA SkyTach cannot go further than 3190 rpm ("It now has a 3190 max RPM viewing ability.") and I don't think that's enough for the 250 (???). My friend has the SkyTach, I've used it and it works great. Only minus is that it does not have a separate on/off switch.

At the moment though, I'm using a eagletree logger to track my engine rpm in flight (and calculate head speed by ratio)... of course it's not as convenient in a way but the benefit is that it works even when your alone at the field. Costs about the same I think... the SkyTach is really expensive in my opinion. I'm using RevMax sensor for the logger rpm. You can also get a brushless motor rpm "sensor" for your 250. Just a thought...

I got a tip from another member on here. Keep dropping your RPM on the tach until the blades look still then double the value to read higher headspeeds.
