View Full Version : Looking for a good setup

My eRaven is complete and I am in the process of finalizing the settings for the ESC (CC HV85). I run using Head Speed Mode but on my other conversions was always limited to 1750 rpm by wooden blades.

I have gone somewhat conservative on the mechanical set-up limiting the pitch range to +/- 12* but really would like to run it at 11* only going to 12* for auto's.

The gearing is (53/24)X(60/14)=9.46:1, @1110kv and loaded voltage around 22 volts, 2200 head speed would not be a problem.

I have all the original plastic grips and stuff on the head and Curtis Youngblood 600mm (cosmeticly flawed//:thinking) blades. The heli is heavy at over 9 lbs. What would be a good safe head speed? I have gone as high as 2100 and performance is brisk but I worry about the grips.

I have flown my 7.9 lb. nitro Raven at 1950 to 2050 for many years, with good blades, and never had a problem.

Thanks GyroAl
I will go with 2000 just to be on the safe side.
