the 770 it self can operate @6V.
no it does not operate better, but the issue is not the servo or the tail servo.

the real issue is your cyclic servos.
in most cases, 6V will make a big diff. for your cyclic servos.

for your tail servo, you might need to put a drop down from 6v 5.1v.
in this case, you put the drop down after the gyro (so the gyro gets 6V and the servo gets 5.1V)

hope it helps

BTW - what servos do you sue for cyclic and what servo for tail ?

DS1015 for cyclic on 6V and DS8900G on gyro.

Thank you for your help!

The gyro will be safe, but not work better at 6 volts.

Your tail servo may or may not be safe at 6 volts.

What tail servo?

DS8900G on tail servo

8900G IS NOT rated to 6V.

From Horizon website:

"Voltage:4.8V only"

I use a 770/8900G combo with an AR7100R on the 5.2 regulated side - works just fine. I am also running my throttle servo on the regulated side.

Although many 4.8 volt servos are fine on 6 volts REGULATED.

4.8 volts really means a 4 cell NiCd or NiMH pack. Which is a nominal 4.8 volts, with a fresh of the charger voltage of around 5.8 volts. 6 volts normally means a 5 cell pack, which is around 7 volts off the charger. 6 volts regulated means 6.00 volts at all times.

JR rep at Toledo show stated, without caveat, that JR 4.8 volt servos can be run at 6 volts REGULATED. Even so, I run my 8900Gs at 5.2 volts regulated. They are so fast that the extra voltage is not needed.
