I just received a black colored 120-5 "Blade Axle Fury Extreme."
Is this part old... I mean, did they used to be black? Because up until now, all the ones I've seen are silver.
This one has some sort of black finish. Is it safe to use?

Use it. This is one of the newer shafts made of a different material.
I have been told that it is stronger than the previous shaft, but yet not hardened.

It doesn't answer your question but I received a 'black' Blade Axle in my Stratus Kit which left MA's factory 1 month ago. From whats been said it must be a material upgrade.

MA is always looking to make their products better..........the black spindles are the newest generation and are the highest quality spindle which MA has. I never had any problems with the silver either but I am all in for the new stuff.

Cool. Good to know. I just wanted to know that the part was safe to use.
I flew it today. Worked just fine.
