Problems: (Mine at least)
I am new to this transmitter, and am having a tougher time learning it than others I have used.
1) The manual does not have a "tree" showing how to navigate to the things you want to do. It shows some examples, and you have to generalize from them to a specific task.
2) Nowhere could I find what the "1H32" displayed on the LCD panel is an example of.
3) The examples for setting throttle and pitch curves, using throttle hold, setting up dual rate and expo, and the idle up switch with an electric are not clear to me. I think that they skipped a few steps ??
Is there anywhere on-line that has some more detailed examples?
Thanks in advance

I am an engineer, with lots of RC experience, and I am having a lot of trouble programming my 7CHP.
You say you have lots of experience with RC. Is this the first computerized radio you have owned?.
Is the heli your trying to setup your first heli?
The 7C is fairly simple and basic as far as computer radios.

I have done some 6 channel mechanical mixes on sailplanes, but this is the first real computer radio and first heli (T-Rex 450 xl eccpm). The 7CHP is probably simple enough if the manual would point me to the action I want to take. I can't even find what all the symbols on the start-up screen are yet. (I bought a Canon 5D and it's manual is a good example of a user friendly manual for a complex tool that doesn't take prior knowledge to use efficiently) I was wondering if there any third party manuals that are more detailed for the 7CHP.
Another question, should I remove the crystal from the 7CHP when using it with RealFlight G3 sim ?
Thanks for your patience, I will probably be back for more as the build progresses and I get deeper into the" time sink".

Ok now we are getting somewhere.
Nope the manual is not going to tell you how to set up throttle and pitch curves as for what precentages to enter into each point. Usually the instructions that come with the helis will have some suggestions.
To set up the heli, it is probably best to get some experienced help. It is easier for someone to show you hands on, then trying to explain thru postings. It only takes a few turns on a couple of links that are different and any numbers posted to input into the transmitter are useless.
As for electric, most of the ESC's have a governor mode. So that you be the easiest to use.
I don't know of any third party manuals for the 7C. No you don't have to remove the crystal from the transmitter to use it with G3.

I just found and ordered a 7C users guide by Anne Marie Cross. It sounds good, I will let you know as soon as it arrives.

2) Nowhere could I find what the "1H32" displayed on the LCD panel is an example of.
Finless and I figured that out. The 1H32 means the radio has been run for 1 hour and 32 minutes. So, the first digit is the hour and the last 2 are minutes. If it was 0H45, it would mean it has been run for 45 minutes. To reset it, you use the select buttons on the right side to go down to it and then you hold the dial button to reset it to zero. You can reset it on a full charge to see how long your battery lasts after charge. After finless and I sent emails back and forth, I told my wife we figured something out. She said 'yeah, that's the battery timer.' Quizzically, I looked at her and asked her how she knew that and she said she had been reading the book. I had left it in the bathroom. Sure enough, it's in there: When you being your flying session, reset your 7C's built-in timer, and during the session pay attention to the duration of usage (Page 5 of the manual.) Of course, it doesn't offer any explanation to it, or how to set it up, but there you go.
Sorry to bump this old thread, but I wanted to offer my help.

She said 'yeah, that's the battery timer.'
Don't ya hate that? :arggg:
Let me guess, yous two over engineered it thinking it was hexidecimal fault codes or klingon code or something? :)

When I first noticed it, it was 1H03, so I thought it was the swash type for the AFR's. I couldn't figure out way my swash kept changing!

I tend to read the manual too fast and miss key stuff like that :)
