Invasion Directions

From I26 to field

Take I 26 to Asheville then look for 240 East (Should also be labeled I26 or "Future 26")

Look for a big bridge and merge all the way left (across 4 lanes) to 19-23 North (Also 26)

Take the Elk Mtn. Rd. exit, about 2.8 miles from when you turn on 19/23 North.

Turn left onto Elk Mtn. Rd. and follow it for about 1.5 miles to Hwy 251

Turn right and go 1.6 miles. Use the northern most gate. beep your horn or call my cell. :)

The field is located at the old landfill- don't worry no smell. The gate has to remain locked- so if you arrive at a locked gate- your at the right place. You can also follow sign to the "Correction Facility" the field is just down the road about 1/2 mile.

That was sooo much fun!! Clintstone's heli invasion is a great an excellent fun way for us heli pilots to get together as flyers, and friends. :) If you have never been to a Heli Invasion maybe it is time you tried one. :D

Guys,
I am real sad that I missed it. I had family obligations. Today I spoke with the senior club members and they said they were surprised by the turnout. They also indicated that they wished they would have known about the event so more of them chould have been there to watch the show.

They suggested that if the chopper pilots wanted to, we could schedule the field for a Heli Fun Fly. If we put it on the calendar, they would shut the field down to planks and we coud have the run of the place.

Anybody interested?

I talked to them about a heli FF in the last board of directors meeting and they were completely opposed. Who exactly did you talk to. I know all the board members but me were very opposed to the idea.
